Excellent Quality at a Fair Price!!!
This is my honest opinion for my new Timberland boots. I love that they're waterproof, and have grippers on the sole. With a warm hiking sock they fit as they should, keeping my heel secure and in place, no slipping around; therefore, no blisters (YEA). My toes still have room to move without being sloppy. I got my normal size (7) & the laces are the perfect length, I am able to lace completely up. They provide good ankle stability while hiking on uneven terrain in the woods. Which is where I wear them often. I oiled them with "Red Wing Mink Oil Paste" as soon as I received them, doing so softens and conditions the leather to aide the breaking in process. They were honestly very comfortable from the moment I put them on. I wore them for 12 hrs while making firewood and by the time I took them off that evening they were broke in. (My feet were still dry AND did not hurt!) The padding around the ankle and the tongue is comfortable without being to bulky. I did a lot of research before my purchase of these boots. Timberland boots offered the best qualities for the price. I am beyond happy with my decision to buy these boots!! I have NO complaints. The pros and cons of these Timberland boots are;Pro: comfortable, provide excellent stability and traction, well made, fair price, waterproof, removable footbed insert for ease of airing out.Con: NONE SO FAR (been 14 days continuous wear in snow, sleet and freezing rain, temps from the mid 30s to -10)I hope my review helps you make the decision to buy these boots. I do not regret my decision!I have NOT been paid for my review!

My favorite boots of all time
To admit these are my favorite boots of all time is a BOLD statement I take seriously, folks. I had to think ALL the way back! Yes, it's true. I even had to include my white Go-Go boots from the mid 1960s that were PRECIOUS.What I love about these boots:1. They come in Wide width2. The top isn't so high that it digs into your SHIN!3. They are RUGGED & last.4. They're comfy!5. Completely waterproof.(I walk the beach. If I get caught splashing in incoming tide, my feet stay dry)6. You walk easier in snow with these textured soles.7. They aren't too heavy.8. They let you walk normally, not clomp around like you have cement blocks on.These are more comfortable than any sneakers I own, & because New England has so many ticks, I wear my boots year-round.Great, versatile boot. I love mine!

Buying My 2nd Pair
At 1st I wasn't sure about the boots as it caused bruises on ankles and blisters on heals during the first 3 uses (1st time I tried them in the house for a couple hrs and felt uncomfortable, -blisters on heals,-2nd time I used them on a 7+ mile moderate-hard hike and ended up with bruised ankles, 3rd time on a 3 mile walk and the ankle area still felt sore). BUT once broken in, they became super comfortable, supporting my feet well both on long walks or hikes, they grip well on paths (except on loose terrain they can slip like any other boot), and keep my feet warm, too during cold weather. I LOVE the color and style. I would recommend using a boot wax before initial use, I coated mine and it helped seal in the color and water to run off it nicely. I used mine stepping in/through a creek, too and yes, they were water proof. I purchased my 1st pair on Amazon (a few cents more), but they were sold out when I wanted to purchase a 2nd pair, so I am buying my 2nd pair straight from Timberland (I find if I wait until I wear an item out, by the time I'd like a replacement pair, I can no longer find them, so I am being proactive this time). I think the value is good, too (though I can't testify for durability as I only owned the boots for a couple months, but I'm hoping they will last a couple years or longer). I purchased other brands and more expensive hiking boots in the past that were not comfortable and were a let down. I am glad I gave these Timberlands a try. The only reason I didn't give a 5-star review was the break-in period pain. I wear a 7-7.5-8 M in various footwear (tennis shoes, flip flops, boots all seem to fit differently). My initial Amazon purchase consisted of a 7.5 M and a size 8 M. I returned the 8 M right away as I was able to determine instantly that they were too large once I tried them on. The 7.5 M are a good fit for me, leaving a little extra room for thicker socks or feet to expand (not sure if a 7 would have felt too snug). Happy with my boots!

Sturdiest. Boots. Ever.
After researching the best cost-effective options out there, I purchased these boots about 8 months ago. Since then, I’m sure I’ve trekked hundreds of miles in them. I should also say this is the first review I’ve felt compelled to write, because I’ve been so impressed. They got me through 2 months’ worth of ecological field work, trekking off trail through dense forest in the PNW. We’re talking up and down mountains, across log jams, rockslides, and streams; no joke level terrain. Through all that, they stayed secure, grippy enough, and I’m positive kept me from rolling an ankle a few times. I’ve also taken them out on 50-mile backpacking trips in the southwest, dayhikes back east, you name it. These boots perform and will not let you down. After all that abuse, they look a bit dusty and have some minor scuffs. Otherwise? Nada. These things are indestructible. They’re my go-to if I need bombproof feet, and I suspect they’ll hold up for many years to come. For sizing reference, I bought my usual sneaker size. While they were generally comfortable right out of the box, I have high arches and eventually wound up buying some cheap inserts to up the support. They’re also a bit roomy on my narrow feet with thin socks on, but fit perfectly with a nice wool sock. No sliding around or toe-stubbing. So I’d say they’re spot on/easy enough to modify to fit your foot shape!TLDR; they’ve taken an absolute beating, but remain comfortable, dry, and always reliable. Insanely good deal!
