Comfortable and Very Low "Learning Curve" - I was thinking about investing in an XBONE Elite Controller for the option of having taller sticks. I have never been a very good twitch-shooter with a controller and wanted something to at least give me a better feel and more control. I was hesitant about stick extensions at first just due to the amount of travel I knew I would have to get to the face buttons on my controller. But the difference in price was enough to sway me toward trying the Vortex extensions from Kontrol Freek. I am happy to report that these little lovelies have exceeded my every expectation. First, the build quality is great, the sticks feel very grippy and just a little supple. Second, they only took a few matches of play--jacking up stick sensitivities and adjusting accordingly--to really get used to (also, clicking of the L and R sticks still remains surprisingly easy). Last on the list was actual gameplay improvement. Wow. After a bit of "oversteer" I had everything dialed in. I especially noticed and really appreciate the ability to make fine adjustments or fine leans on the stick. This was especially apparent while playing Battlefield one. If anyone out there has played this gem, you will know that the LMGs are squirrely as hell. The amount of fine finesse I could place on the stick was adequate for controlling the rise of the LMGs (Lewis Gun especially) during sustained fire. I would highly recommend this particular product. I am looking forward to trying out other offerings from Kontrol Freek as well as picking up another few boxes of Vortex extensions. They are now a favorite that I don't want to play without. Review: Works great for a couple different reasons range, comfort and maneuverability - Works great just like it's supposed to although it doesn't fit perfectly on some joy sticks with the thicker rubber on them.. but will fit most. It's nice because you can switch them back and forth depending on what you're using them for. For example, I like the taller one on the left for most games, but on some shooter games it's nice to put on the right for an extended aiming range. Plus for me they're actually really comfortable once you get used to them. Very annoying.** A: NO ! U can try cleaning around base of joy sticks with qtip and alcohol. Also in settings check your dead zones. First few games with them took a bit of getting used to but soon I really noticed it improved my targeting and overall KD. I can't imangine playing without them.They are easy to use, easy to install. The tops feel great on the thumbs especially the concave one. Would highly recommend this to anyone who is a big fan of first person shooters. My only issue is, now that I have been using for a few months, on occassion I find my thumb slipping off from time to time. But overall I really like these and think that they do improve aiming & movement accuracy and control. I didn't think far ahead to track a before and after stats, so I can give a real scientific review, but it does feel like my gameplay has improved. I went in and adjusted my sensitivity setting way up, since I felt like I had so much more control, and I think this has helped my game play as well.
