I test drove the watch for a week! My final thoughts.
Let’s start with the obvious! At £45 I was expecting a flimsy and plasticity watch, how wrong I was?! The Avtrek ticks every box when it comes to looks, design, durability and build quality. Even the presentation box was pleasant surprise. Initially, I was apprehensive and totally convinced that this watch cannot be a Suunto Core beater or even a worthy competitor. How wrong again ?! This watch is big, if you have a wrist smaller then 7” you can forget it as it will look ridiculous. The bezel has a shine that’s isn’t particularly to my taste but from various angles it can be muted, so not an issue here. It sits on the wrist very flat and doesn’t feel unbalanced at all despite its weight. The buttons are very responsive and have a soft response. I do like this and unlike my Garmin Fenix 6 solar that cost nearly 10 times and has the worst button response ever. The backlight is great and it fades away gently. The watch face contrast is readable under all light condition unlike, the Suunto core that has one of the worst negative displays especially when indoor. Indeed, the contrast can be altered in the menu to suit individuals vison. The manual provided is simple and clear to understand. I found the menu layout and function very intuitive and easy to remember. This is the fun part, an ABC watch has to be accurate at predicting barometric pressure changes in altitude accurately. The Avtrek passed my Baro/Alt test with flying colours. My benchmark testing unit was my Davis vantage vue weather station. (Pic attached) let me elaborate. I set my altitude and SLP and monitored the progress of the Barometer graph on the screen for 24 hours. The result is astonishingly accurate. Although, I went out and my altitude has changed, the barometer remained consistant in its calculation without exhibiting any false readings. The thermometer and compass are also both accurate. I tested the pedometer vs my AW S6 and it was spot on during a walk in the field. Things are looking very promising so far 😉 I took the watch for a swim in the pool and dove to 2 metres depth. No concern to it’s claim of 5mbar. I also tested the alarm and it was loud enough to wake me up from the first 5 seconds. They are some aspects to this watch that could be improved. Adding Storm Alarm Adding sunrise & sunset Locking button This Avtrek is a little gem that many will b unaware of. I do hope this review helped someone out there looking for cheap and cheerful watch to gift to someone or take on holiday.

Looks Amazing - bought as a gift
This watch was bought as a gift so cannot review functionality. I did take it out of the box when it arrived. Quality seems to be very good, really good weight to the watch, looks a lot more expensive than the price purchased for. Instructions look straight forward to set up the watch. Some very good features that I haven't tested. The only thing that could be an issue for people with large wrists is the strap is not as big as some other watchs I've purchased bit should fit most. For the price, this is well worth the money and I would recommend if you are looking for a cheap expensive looking watch 👌👍

Excellent features well made reliable good boys toy
I really like this watch. Give it a week and it will be part of you. I consult the weather features slot. Bit of advise . I've worn this watch non stop since purchase I know the watch! Set the temperature when it's been on your wrist for an hour indoors by the central heating digistat controller temperature figures (top tip) the pedometer resets it's self to start a fresh day of counting steps and calories. Altimeter is bang on I set mine to the figures on an altimeter phone app to my area then checked it at sea level and it was bang on. Compass seems legit certainly shows where the north is no worries there but don't use it anyway so can't really comment. This is not a "smart watch with phone connectivity" so on the plus side the whole world don't know your business! Great bit of kit and I love it. Best watch I've ever had! Regards Lee

Pretty good, but has its faults.
Overall I'm pretty pleased with the watch. It's well built, rugged and has a quality feel to it. I love the negative display which is easy to read even in bright sunlight. For nighttime viewing the blue back-light is spot on and again makes reading the watch easy. I've found the compass to be reliable and, unlike some reviewers, have not had to keep recalibrating it. I've found the barometer to be accurate to within about 20 bar +/-. My biggest gripe is the altimeter which is next to useless, no matter how many times I put in my altitude it doesn't keep it and the reading is up and down like a yo-yo.

Best watch ever
It's been over 2 weeks since I recieved this watch, absolutely love it. It survived the outdoor wrath of Scotland rain and snow and hailstone at the same time, so definitely waterproof as it's advertised 50m waterproof. Very comfortable, took some time to get used to because it's a massive watch. Wear it everywhere, outside, gym, hiking and some very rough conditions. 1 thing that happened was yesterday on the deadlift bar, something caught it and ripped it off my arm, and the side came off. What I realised is how quick you can put it back on, you just put in 1 side of the pin the other you can literary just press in and it'll go back no problem. It indeed shows all the information fairly accurately I've tested it. It's quite hard to get used to and understand how it works but it's second nature after you've got it. Although some things like the barometer I still don't really get, and the degree thing. OVerall, 10/10 does all that I want and need. For the price, this is on top.
