2nd time purchasing this item. The first one lasted a little over two years until the base broke. We had some strong winds and it would loosen the wingnut securing the pole to the base. Eventually the pole bent where the wingnut applied pressure against the base leaving play from the base and pole. This eventually lead to the pole swaying in the base when we had strong wind gusts and sheard off half the base. This time I cut a dowel that was close to the inner dimension of the pole and placed it inside before mounting so I don't have to worry about the pole bending again.

We've gone through many different porch-style flag poles over the past 50 years, and most of them had design deficiencies which resulted (after a period of extended use) in the flags disengaging from the attachment points on those poles. Many of these flag poles, albeit superbly constructed, had design deficiencies with the hooks (or whatever they're called) that attach to the grommets on the flags. As a result, they would eventually come loose or break off. Secondly, all of these flag poles came in only one length - one long, solid piece (not that this is a problem in itself). Now enter this Barcetine American Flag pole. When it arrived, we were surprised to see that the pole portion comes in parts, allowing the user to screw in the lengths needed for their particular set-up. The longest setting was a good 1-2' longer than the typical "one size" flagpoles that you normally find in stores, so this was a welcomed addition. The flag pole pieces attach firmly and screw together. The brackets and clips are very nicely made and are highly functional, and it is apparent that once the flag is attached, it's not going anywhere - it's that well made. Finally, rather than your standard silver, wood toned, or gray color - this flagpole is a nice black design (which is different). All in all, we've found this unit to be one of the nicest porch style flag-pole designs that we've seen and we're glad we found it on Amazon. Thus we're giving it 5 stars!

The system is simple and well made. The weather resistance is a compliment for salt air conditions and high winds. Easy mounting and stability for a 5 foot flag.

Get metal rings for the clips the clip too. This one has plastic ones and will break over time from wind. - Edited back to 5 stars just for their customer service. That goes far with products today. Thank you guys

Some of the hardware is very cheaply made and there is no customer service to Canada

The flag has wrapped around the pole by the wind which it’s said that it won’t do.. Disappointed!!
