Tested the sugar content of a hay sample. The Numbers were very good. The unit is easy to use and seems to be made of good material. It is worth the cost.

When we got out Ninja Slushi, we quickly learned that sugar content was a huge part in making sure it would slush. We then found this and the game has been changed ever since! no more guess work. Now we just simply take a few drops and we know for sure what we need to add to our mix. Its fairly easy to use and gives you an accurate sugar content. I like the case that it comes in. Since we dont use it often, i know its being kept safe. For the price, this will save you so much time and guess work if you too would like to make the mixed drink of your dreams

LIKES: very easy to use and read measurements, easy to clean, instructions are understandable, makes getting this information much easier than having to collect enough juice to float a hygrometer. DISLIKES: none to report. HOW USING: I have 3 grape vines in my yard that I like to make wine from. I get a very small yield so I always hated having to take a large cluster just to test sugar content with a plunging hygrometer. This tool lets me pluck single grapes from several different clusters instead and I love it. RECOMMENDATION: Yes. This is a very easy tool to carry out into the field and test individual fruits. That in itself means it will pay for itself very quickly. I find it very easy to use and understand the results. Top quality.

This brix tester is easy to use, everything is easy to read and clean. The quality feels good, the case it comes in is great. It seems to be pretty good accuracy, at least compared to my other ones, none read the same, but all are pretty close.

Recently we purchased a home slushie machine. One of the things that affects the outcome of the slush is the sugar amount and proportions. To upgrade our game we got this refractometer. The kit comes with all you need to start testing. The refractometer, a pipette to collect the liquid, and a small cleaning rag. The piece is built solid, easy to use, and easy to clean after each use. It also comes with a screw driver to zero it with water, but my unit was ready to go out of the box, no calibration was needed. The only adjustment I made was to see the result much clearer, by turning and adjusting the eye piece to achieve a clearer image. I'm not sure how it works but it does not need batteries, just light. It became very useful with the slushie machine.

A great basic meter for testing the sugar levels prior to starting the office slushy machine. We've been doing the mad scientist thing before, measuring parts to water and the like, and this has come in much better to ensure that the mix will slush properly and quickly. Very easy to use, and with some practice you will be able to get the readings you're looking for with ease. I liken it to trying to measure chlorine levels in a pool. At first, you'll struggle but it comes quickly.
