Good if dried fully

I use this to make my own shampoo... Put 10 grams of shikakai, 10 grams of reetha and 5 grams of dried amla in a pan and cover with 3 cups water. Let them soak for 8 to 10 hours. Heat the mix till it starts to boil. Reduce heat and let it simmer for 15 to 30 minutes. Remove from the heat and let it cool. When it comes to the room temperature, crush the reetha, shikakai, and amla/peels with your hand to extract all the liquid. Strain before use. I put this in ice-cube trays to freeze in individual portions. I also add a variety of herbs and spices to color my hair and add highlights. I liked it, hence the 4 stars. If you are not sensitive to chemicals, it is fine for you. I had a horrible allergic reaction to it which leads me to believe there are some kind of chemicals used in the process of growing it. I have not had reactions to other brands.

There must have been some kind of insect egg inside of the of the shikakai pods. First, it came in a ziplock back, which didn't seem very professional, but I overlooked that. After a few days of receiving, I saw over 10 winged bugs flying around inside the bag and crawling around the pods. I was totally terrified, I didn't recognize the flying bugs, so my immediate reaction was to throw the bag out. I know I should have gotten a picture, but I panicked. When I contacted the seller, they responded by telling me that the bugs were "shikakai seeds". I told them that seeds to not fly and crawl around, and they did not respond to me.

Good quality shikakai pods....arrived quickly too.....
