Great Camping+ Fan
This Opolar fan (square handle fan) is great for camping and home. While not an ultra light fan (32.5 oz) and should be evaluated for whatever backpacking you are doing, it is quiet and effective and my go-to for a personal solution.I bought this square handle fan before going to scout camp in Texas this year for a week in June/July with humid 3-digit deg-F temps, and it brought great relief! Also got the Mini Handheld Personal Portable Fan...USB or 4000mAh Battery Powered, with Flexible Tripod..., (tripod fan) which my son used. Between the two I would opt for this square handle fan.The square handle fan pushes air immediately. I found myself grabbing it and easily pointing it to my face while getting into the footlocker, while sitting in a chair reading in the tent, while sitting the picnic benches in the campsite, etc. and getting an immediate benefit from it. The most important situation was at night when I would lay on my cot and put it between my knees and point it to push air over my torso and head. I was able to sleep very well. This square handle fan has a low center of gravity that makes it very easy to set on a table, a bed, your lap, etc. and a pivoting fan that can pivot anywhere between straight down at the base and straight up at the handle. I was incredulous of this feature when I bought the fan, but quickly changed my mind about that when I put it to work the first time. That opens up a spherical range of motions to set the fan, given how easy it is to position the base on a surface in 360 deg around a vertical axis. There are 3 settings, and rarely have I set it higher than the first setting because of how effective it is on that setting, but you can definitely up the air stream through the other 2 settings as needed. Just as importantly, the fan has a timer for 1, 3, and 5 hours. At night I would set it for 1 hr and once asleep my body temperature would drop low enough to where I didn't need the fan once asleep. So that saved on battery power. Worth noting is the designers also cleverly made the indication lights on the settings a calming blue that is enough to be seen in the day, but not too bright in the dark, which was perfect at bedtime.I put 4 D-size Energizer Max batteries from the supermarket in this square handle fan on 6/26 and am still using them 7/17 without issue. I bought an 8-pack, but the first 4 are still serving well. The fan with the 4 D's weighs 32.4 oz / 919 g, which is one consideration I would give for the type of camping I would be doing. Way too much for real ultra light packing, a definite maybe on more conventional backpack hiking to primitive spots in a hot climate, and a slam dunk for car camping. In addition to the D-cell battery power source, it also has a cord that can plug into a usb jack, which opens up options like my Anker lithium ion compact battery pack, a car lighter, or a usb wall plug adapter.I have to add that after returning home, it is perfect for that space in my house where the AC coverage is a little remote and which gets stuffy before the thermostat in the living room senses the stuffiness. I can put this little personal fan near me and get an effective stream on the first setting that allows me to work in this little cubby that I used to have to vacate early to get to a more comfortable spot. That said it should be noted that this is a personal space solution. I would not count on it to cool a room in a house, but 4-6 person tent would work and especially for that personal solution to point at your face or body for very local cooling.I mentioned the tripod fan because the difference in efficiency of each fan's air stream is very distinct. I thought that I would find that the smaller tripod fan for a tent would work better at camp given the advantage the bendable tripod legs would give on range of direction. I have concluded that range of direction is not an issue with the square handle fan, and the added difference in noise level and blade efficiency pushed this square handle fan to my favorite as the better tool for the job for camping and home use. Hope this is helpful.

Small but mighty!!
I got this for power outages seeing as I live in Florida and we are in for a very busy hurricane season this year. As soon as it arrived, I tried it out and the noise level is acceptable and for me would be very comforting to sleep with. What I'm most impressed with is the power of air flow for the size...small but mighty!! It does take 4 D size batteries, easy to put in. I tested it with the USB, and it worked perfectly. I can't be without something if/when the power goes out, my cat and I would roast! It's the perfect size to have on your night table next to the bed, or the dresser if it's close to your bed. 3 speeds, and on the highest speed it blows pretty darn hard to keep you cool. You can manually move the center to choose direction of air flow. I'm happy with it. Should have bought 2 of them, still might!!

A lifesaver when the power goes!
We bought two of these as we faced an upcoming hurricane...just in case! Boy, were we glad that we did! Hurricane came, no power, these saved the day! Four D cell batteries and we were cool and comfortable and so very appreciative! Quiet, easy to operate. No need to even read the instructions! Great design. Best of all, air flow is perfect - from gentle to powerful, you choose! Timer lets you fall asleep and not worry about wasting battery power. Runs for days and days on one set of batteries! Best of all, even though you have no electricity, it can keep you cool indefinitely as long as you have some spare batteries! It's so great, we've bought several more to have around the house to keep the air flowing all of the time and save the electricity we'd normally use on air conditioning. It's that soothing, quiet, and simple lovely! A+++++++++++ and more!

Nice desk fan
This fan was surprisingly good. It’s a little small for a camping outdoor fan. Which is what I was looking for. It’s high powered and runs off of batteries which was nice. It’s doesn’t take up much space and is very quite.

Ok you know it's good when you buy one for your Mom!
This is the perfect bedside fan! I bought these for hurricane fans because I could charge them and I could use them with batteries if the power was out. But I found that they were perfect for using at night beside the bed for sound and a little breeze and in the bathroom when doing my hair and make-up. So perfect in fact I purchased one for my Mom when she used mine when she was here visiting! She just had to take one home! Buy one! You'll love it!

Camping fan
This worked wonderful while camping. The ability to charge either by battery or direct plug connection is great. I really enjoyed the fact that it has a shut off timer as well. The fan is quiet but has good speed. Really enjoying it.

Powerful and lightweight
I love this little fan! It is lightweight, but powerful. I've even carried it with me on vacationy. I love that the fan can be adjusted vertically. Wherever I need to set it (on my nightstand, on the floor, on the kitchen counter) I can adjust it up or down to suit the situation. I have hot flashes and this is one lifesaver! I also love that it takes regular batteries. I don't go to use it to find out that it needs recharging. It's always ready to go.
