Deliciously Flavorful and Satisfying - A Must-Try for Jerky Lovers!
People's Choice Beef Jerky (Teriyaki) has quickly become my favorite go-to snack. The thinly sliced but generously sized slabs of beef are packed with a rich, savory teriyaki flavor that never disappoints. Every bite is a burst of deliciousness that keeps me coming back for more. I do want to give a heads-up that there are occasionally thin strips of sinew in the slabs. These can be a bit tough to bite through and can lead to some extra chewing. However, I've found that cutting the slabs into smaller pieces makes it easier on my teeth, and the sinew becomes less of an issue. Alternatively, you can bite and tear the beef off the sinew, or just spit the sinew out if needed. Despite this minor inconvenience, the flavor and quality of the jerky more than make up for it. One thing to note is that this isn't soft beef jerky. If you're used to eating softer jerky or other soft foods, be prepared for a bit of a workout for your teeth and jaw. The texture is firm and chewy, which I personally love, as it adds to the satisfying experience of enjoying a truly hearty snack. I've never had a bad bag of People's Choice Beef Jerky, and I appreciate the consistency and quality of their product. You get a lot which is nice since a single bag costs a lot. If you're a fan of robust, flavorful jerky that offers a satisfying chew, I highly recommend giving this a try.

Slab meat turned into jerky, so tasty and so good.
This stuff is so good. It's just slab meat turned into jerky. Which means you have to go at it like a savage animal sometimes. It has mostly tender parts, but contains some non-tender parts too. Just have to rip and tear. So satisfying and so tasty.

Old fashion beef jerky...
Well, for me, this is the best tasting jerky I've had. I have tried all kinds of jerky and this one is for me. I call this the old fashion cowboy jerky. Tough and chewy and thin, the way I like it. The bag has A LOT of sheets in it, well worth the money. Try it!

New review: 12.17.2024 Misleading product description, says big slab 15 count up top, but only can select the 3 ounce bag!!!! This is HORRIBLE business practice whomever is doing this! You are now selling a 3 ounce bag of jerky for 40 bucks now! Get out of here with that nonsense. The People's Choice own website sells the 3 ounce bag for only 7 bucks! Also I have bought the 15 big slab bags MANY times on here and those bags are almost 1.5 pounds NOT 3 ounces, but my purchase history says I purchased 5, 3 ounce bags. LIES! I never bought the 3 ounce bags, so why did my purchase history change to that instead of the big slab bags which are advertised as approximately 1.5 pounds when shipped?!? Something real messed up is going on in this listing as of 12.17.2024.... 3 ounces for 40 bucks when they are 7 bucks on the business website is straight up robbery. Post this review edit or don't I don't care. THIS is why I dont buy on Amazon anymore or have Prime anymore. The lies on here are so disrespectful. We are all struggling to afford things in life right now because of these FALSE listings. Get a clue and stop ripping your customers off! LAME. New review: i'll make this quick as possible to help those who love this product like I did. There is a difference now then from a few years ago. The slabs are much smaller and sliced super thin on some of them. Also quit a few of my slabs out of the total 4 bags I bought (2 spicy, 1 yaki, 1 original) smelled foul and to be honest rotten. I did not eat these as the jerky on these were very dry and hard as heck and I figured they may damaged my teeth on them. The packaging is also different than before and looks more shelf marketable than before for maybe like a costco rack or some bulk retailer with SKUS and barcodes. Also don't expect 1.5 lbs per bag when you get them. I bought 4 bags and they amounted to 4.5 lbs when 4 bags at 1.5 lbs should be close to 6 lbs total. The rep did explain to me that that is a requirement in order to ship within the amazon network. They must provide a shipping weight to the system. The rep said the real bag count is the 15 slab count not any weight. So be aware, the slabs are sliced thinner and smaller in size and thus the bag weight on all 4 bags was under. I was short by 1 bag out of 4 basically. I do think the jerky is good still but not nearly as before. I will not be purchasing these products anymore as I feel the quality and quantity has suffered too much as the price continues to go up. I appreciate family businesses and their hard work. Best of luck to them in the future! Old review below: mmmm great beef jerky! Just like another said the gas station type, but without everyone putting their dirty fingers on them first! I ate the whole pack in about a week! I just ordered another spicy, and the yaki and the classic to round out the collection! I love gas station jerky that hands haven't been all over! This is great stuff!

Inconsistant piece quality holds back otherwise excellent flavored and textured jerky
Review edit: I'm keeping my first sinew piece impression underneath this, but after trying more I'm giving this jerky 4 stars, 5 stars if we ignore the sinew piece and inconsenstancy. Why? Because my next piece was the best piece of jerky I've ever had. The flavor is perfect and made me enjoy the chewiness and working on every piece, they really nailed the seasoning being just enough but never too much. Texture wise they pretty much perfected "almost too chewy and dry, almost, but every bite was the most enjoyment I've gotten out of a drier style jerky. This is a 5 star jerky imo if that is your favorite style! I'm definitely going to buy some more. I wanted to ignore the meal I was cooking tonight and keep grabbing another piece! After getting through the bag, some pieces were much more tender and easy to breakdown and were easily 5 stars, and others were a bit more leathery/chewy but never too much aside from the one. If you're okay with paying for variance, you'll be rewarded. First impression, Texture: I happened to find a length wise sinewy piece first bite, it happens if you like jerky its a part of the game. You make up your mind about whether you'll enjoy chewing on it for awhile and swallowing or spit it out sooner or later. Trouble is it required channeling my inner hyena as even after working on it it felt like I might need to pull out a mini chain saw to strip-ify the rest away from the sinew. Its a "busy" jerky, as in you'd best not be busy while eating it because it's going to take your focus. Maybe I'll come back and give a better rating once I finish the bag if it was consistently better. But so far I agree with another reviewer about being a little too tough overall despite enjoying dryer textures, I hope mine was just 1 off bag/piece. Flavor: I got the Original and I actually really enjoy the taste, its got perfect sized black pepper pieces on it that I really enjoy how they pop in my mouth with a light spicy zing that ended up encouraging me to keep at my tough pieces. You can tell there is a soy sauce flavor but its maybe one of the lightest uses of soy I've yet encountered and kudos for that, just enough there to keep it interesting, but it's definitely not one of those "am I eating beef, or teriyaki?" types. Definitely one of the better lightly seasoned, but not light on flavor jerkys I've so far had. Overall: If you like more "real" type jerky (not sopping wet wads, but not roadkill leather) that keeps you bit more busy than the others, don't mind variance in quality and want to try a great but not overbearing flavor, give the Original a try.

It's a pretty yummy jaw workout with wasteful packaging!
I have to start by saying that I love all of the other People's Choice products that I've bought. I've tried several jerkies and their sausage sticks. All are best of the best. I hate to give any product of theirs fewer than 5 stars. However... The Big Slab Bag is a good deal, coming in at about 10 cents an ounce less than the other People's Choice jerkies I've bought. It was much sweeter than the regular (not Big Slab) Hot & Spicy, and I prefer the regular one, which is sugar-free. They make up for the sweet with some heat. The end result is kind of a spicy Teriyaki flavor. The slabs have more red pepper on them than the sugar-free chunks do and a heat that some may find just a little too much, even the next day. These slabs are also very, very...very...chewy. Like leather-belt chewy. I expected this, based on the reviews, but just wanted to verify it for any doubting Thomas'. It doesn't keep me from eating a whole single-serving, but I expect to have the jawline of a US Marine when I am done with this package. The only true disappointment is the packaging. The product description says: "The Big Slab Bag (15-Count, 1.5 LB) comes with 15 massive slabs of meat. Looking for the same great flavor but in a more convenient size? The 3 Ounce Bag comes in a resealable bag great for on-the-go snacking." This might lead you to believe that you would receive on bag with 15 slabs of jerky in it, weighing 1.5 lb. Nope. I opened the bubble mailer to find a Priority Mail Tyvek mailer. I opened the mailer to find a plastic bag closed with a twist tie. I opened the plastic bag to find...wait for it...15 individually wrapped packages of jerky! This begged the question: How is the 3-oz bag a more convenient size than a 1.5-oz bag (besides less packaging and a zipper)? I found this to be wasteful and to take up way more space in my fridge than necessary. But the package sure wasn't going to be damaged in the mail. So, for me: -1 star for inaccurate (in my opinion) packaging description and wastefulness -1 star for texture and sweetness. I will stick to my favorite: People's Choice Beef Jerky - Old Fashioned - Hot & Spicy - Sugar-Free, Carb-Free, Keto-Friendly - 1 Pound

Best beef jerky texture/flavor I’ve ever had. I’m hooked.
This is, by far, the best beef jerky imaginable. I love the texture, flavor, slab size/thickness and cost. The texture is fairly (and perfectly) dry, more like an old fashioned jerky that I remember as a kid, rather than the large/thick & sugar-soaked strips that companies call “jerky” now. You have to give it a good chewing to hydrate it enough to swallow it…the flavor never stops. The dryness also makes it much better to carry around with, as you aren’t schlepping around a bunch of over-hydrated beef strips. The flavor does have some sweetness to it but not overbearing at all, and the black pepper amount is ideal. I love the slab size and thickness of the pieces, as this is indicative of a quality piece of meat; and, it very much adds to the dryness/texture that I like. I’ve been searching for this type of beef jerky for a couple of years now, and I’ll never be able to enjoy other “jerky” the same. The cost of this jerky seems to generally be better, or on par, than the what you will find in stores. With that said, I could still EASILY eat a third of a bag a day when I’m out hiking/backpacking. And then a fifth of a bag when I stay in at home. It’s just so good, I can’t resist. Many thanks to the producers.

Is this the best jerky on the planet? YES!
Hands down, best value and flavor of any jerky ever. If you like that gas station big slab a bit tougher type of jerky. That said for a gas station big slab type lean meat piece, they are surprisingly easy to tear and chew. I don’t know what it is but I swear they made this jerky for my tastebuds. Perfectly sweet and not too much so, perfectly spicy and not too little or too much so. I LOVE spicy and can handle much more spice than it delivers but for some reason it never feels lacking. Just the PERFECT jerky. No that’s just the jerky! The people behind the jerky are even more amazing than the jerky itself! No joke, they had little personal touches letters showing who packaged it, shoot I even got a Christmas card from them. I had a problem once and it wasn’t even a big problem and wasn’t even their fault, yet no questions asked. I mean none! They sent me a brand new bag plus a sample. (Now don’t go trying to rip them off! Their prices are so fair you’d just be screwing us all if the price were to go up, lol) I’m a jerky fanatic and honestly if I could only have one jerky the rest of my life it would be this one. There are softer jerky’s stronger taste in jerky’s less spicy more spicy jerky’s, but this one is just perfect plus it’s not some 2 Oz 4 Oz 8 Oz bag. This sucker is a POUND and HALF. 18 ozs! Best that, I dare ya. There’s nothing I don’t like about this company plus they’re straight out of Los Angeles and I’ve been there for like 100+- years or something. Same building same family. No me of that grocery store fake tasting bloated with water jerky. This is the real deal. I’m pretty sure I have officially tested every flavor they have. While this is my favorite just because I like that rip a piece off chewy texture and the flavor of it, every single one was incredible!. Actually I still haven’t had their maple one that I want to try really badly. (Hint hint) haha. Honestly no joke coming from a guy who’s eaten every jerky on the planet. I’ve strictly eaten theirs if not in a pinch for like 3 years or longer now. Well since my very first bag. Perfect company, and proud they come from California where I live. Also they give all kinds of deals a loyalty points on their website also. But if you want it pronto just buy it on amazon. Keep up the good work you Jerks!
