Surprisingly secure
I got these anti-slip bumpers to keep a glass tabletop from sliding around on its metal base, and it is securely in place now. As other reviews mentioned, these bumpers are not clear but a translucent white- but it's hardly noticeable. They are not made of an adhesive material, but they are extremely tacky and the glass won't budge at all from the metal base anymore.

Much thicker than glass table top bumpers have seen before. Also, not clear. But they do the job.

I bought these to go under a glass cover to keep the glass in place on a painted surface. They work. The glass hasn’t moved around at all.
