Review: All Parts Fits Perfect With Super Nice Case - I think the price is a hit higher than I expected but it is for Porsche so I guess it's fitting. But my husband does use it with his buddies on their project car. They use it on the Panamera for a project to revive the engine so this kit works out well. The functionality works with a few different Porsche but he has not tried it all yet. The engine locking works when they test on the Panamera engine and it comes with all the correct needed parts. Like fixing tool, camshaft tool and the hexagonal socket too. Everything works well so they absolutely love it.
Review: Several problems with this kit - In short, don't buy this, buy a more expensive one. Why? Read on. The biggest problem is that it is not machined correctly, and despite using the tool as indicated in the Porsche factory service manual, the timing is off. If you are buying this, you know how big of a job it is to do this, and to do it, fire up the car, get a timing CEL, and have to do it all again, is a lousy way to spend a weekend. I will say that perhaps I bought a poorly manufactured one, but you can find others having the same issue on porsche forums. Also, the E-torx socket for the cam phaser center bolt is machined in such a way that there is very little contact with the fastener. If you look, you can see how the socket is chamfered to make it easier to fit on the fastener, but because the fastener already has a shallow engagement, this socket compounds it. Worse, it is a 3/4 ratchet, so if you are doing it correctly and using a torque wrench, you are likely using a 3/8 and perhaps a 1/2". Stacking a 3/4 to 1/2 adapter on it results in the socket rocking as you tighten it, and you can damage the side of the head of the fastener. If you look at the socket from more expensive kits, you will notice that the socket doesn't have the chamfer, is a 1/2" ratchet, and even the socket itself is shallower. This is important if you are trying to do this without putting your car in service position. The last issue I have is with the allen bolts that come with it. Per the porsche factory manual, you are supposed to tighten the cam holding bolts to 15 foot-pounds when using the tool. The material used in the allen bolts is very soft and stripped before my digital torque wrench could hit 15 foot pounds. If you manage to get one that works, then I'll give you the fact this is about half the price of other ones, but man, to do the job twice, is not very nice. They did refund me with no issues though, so I also give them credit there.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Engine Timing Tool Kit for Porsche 3.0T Service Work and Camshaft Alignment
*by L***S on May 24, 2026*

This timing tool kit includes the main pieces needed for camshaft locking and engine timing service on compatible Porsche engines. The set includes the specialty socket and alignment tools needed for timing-related repairs and teardown work. The steel pieces have a decent weight to them and the storage case keeps everything organized between jobs. The kit also costs noticeably less than some of the higher-end professional timing kits available for these engines. The machining and finish looked acceptable overall, and the tools appear suitable for occasional repair work or backup shop use where OEM tooling is not necessary for every job. Some experienced users have reported alignment accuracy and fitment inconsistencies compared to more expensive professional kits, so careful verification during timing setup is still important before final assembly. Currently listed for sale at $54.90, this feels like a fair value for an aftermarket Porsche timing tool kit with decent coverage for occasional service work.
