I know the Scout has Map + Test in the unit - but it is annoying having the base out. Having this remote lets the scout stay whole.This is especially helpful when terminating networking and patch panels at the same time:The #1 in the scout can be used for the patch cables, the remote #1 can be used (with the other remotes 2-12) to test the punch down keystones back to the server/network room.Really tempted to knock off two stars simply because this was not included in the remote(s) kit, but as the product itself this is a five star product - STRONGLY recommend!

I bought this to test with my Klein Scout JR to see if I could 4 pair test with that model. Worked great even though they say it is only for the Scout Pro 3. You can only 4 pair test with this and the Scout JR but it saves a pile of time to have a couple extra remotes on running back and forth to test.

This is a must have if you have already purchased the starter kit. Test the cable. IDs the cable and measures the distance all at the same time.
