I notice this new product has a much lower percentage of putrescent egg solids. How does it compare with original formula?

Wow! Very surprising, and very disappointing, to read that the "new" product is in fact charging customers the same for 40% less coverage. (Because percentage math can get tricky, so to let me be accurate: If you previously paid $35 for a 40 ounce bottle that produced 5 gallons, and now you pay $35 for a 40 ounce bottle that produced 3 1/8 gallons, that's 37.5% fewer gallons, but the cost per gallon has increased from $7.00 to #11.20, which is a 60% increase in cost.) Who raises prices that much?! The answer comes from a little Googling, which reveals that Liquid Fence was a small company in Pennsylvania that got purchased in 2014 by a large conglomerate (United Industries Corp., a subsidiary of Spectrum Brands Holdings, which owns and manufactures other brands you'd recognize like Spectracide, Hot Shot, Black Flag, Cutter and Repel). They apparently closed the plant in Pennsylvania and moved manufacturing to a United Industries plant in Missouri -- and in the process jacked up the effective price to consumers by 60%. The's big business and capitalism, I guess, but it makes me angry. I've used Liquid Fence for years, but I think I'll be trying some competing products now to see if something else can get the job done.

No It does not harm plants when sprayed on them

how does this work for rabbits chewing on my plants?

This works for rabbit and deer very well (I spray it on my garden as well it does not effect the vegetables in any way). I was just browsing and saw the premixed solution, I would stick with the concentrate in a pump sprayer or even a squirt bottle. If it’s not working for you you need to consider what the weather is doing. If you spray it today and it rains tonight or tomorrow then it will be washed off. I have two acres and a lot of plants that both rabbits/deer like such as hosta, day Lillie’s, tulips and other soft greens. Go with the concentrate and follow the instructions on the bottle. I use it as directed the first two weeks then I use about 8-10 oz after that per gallon. I spray every week for 4-6 weeks, then every other week for the rest of the season. If you do it right you won’t see either animal near your plants for a couple of days. What you’re doing is training the “locals” that your plants have a fowl taste and they learn not to eat them. It is a pretty disgusting smell, a savory garlic and cheesy throw up and it works! I have a feeling that the premixed may be a little more diluted. Mix your own and you’ll be golden! Love this stuff, it’s expensive because it works!

I use the repellent in my garbage can to keep the bears away. We also used it on exposed plants and flowers to keep the deer from eating them. I'm pretty sure it would not harm grass, although I havn't tried that.

I have been using this for a few months now. I can see deer on the camera by my hedge and they are not eating the hedge - so far so good and the hedge is growing strong which will protect it from the deer better than young shoots.

Bought it for my mother’s garden to get rid of rabbits. Followed the instructions and the rabbits are still there. Waste of time and money.
