Minnetonka Women's Silverthorne Thong Sandal

True fit

I get these shoes every year. I love them. They’re sturdy but pretty. I usually get them from a store, but with Covid-19 closures, I ordered online. I should tell you that I ordered TWO pairs—same size, different color. The brown pair fit perfectly. The black pair is unwearable—the thong that goes between my toes is stiff, scratchy, and tight. I can’t wear them without getting a blister. One pair is awesome; one pair hurts. Go figure. When I bought them in a store, I never had problems, so it’s probably a rare defect. I’ve been purchasing this same style sandal for the last six or seven summers and never had problems.

I have the Silver Thorne Thong Sandal by Minnetonka in all colors. I added the turquoise and the coral this year. These shoes are very durable and substantial but are not clunky. They provide good support, even for walking a long time. I typically wear an 8.5 Wide so I purchase these sandals in a nine and they fit just fine. I always get compliments on these shoes. They can be dressed up or down. I will continue to wear them as long as they are available. I bought my first pair about 7 years ago. I still wear them because they hold up so well. I have summer shoes that I refer to as my "disposable" flip flops, which don't last more than a season or maybe two. These Minnetonke shoes would never fall into that category. I recommend them to anybody who will listen.

I bought a couple pairs of Minnetonka's Silverthorne Sandals a couple years ago in gold and silver. They fast became my favorite shoes! Then I lost a lot of weight and they were too big for me, though they still looked fairly new. I'm so happy to see they still sell them and in so many colors! The shoe is so comfortable, the slight heel makes standing and walking easy. The colors are bright and beautiful. The only trouble I ever had was the metallic accents go through the leather and would leave those greenish marks on my skin. A great way of stopping this is to put clear nail polish on the backs of the metal, then no more problems!

I got these sandals in 3 colors - tried out the gold and went back for pink and turquoise. Fit is true to size, I got 8M. The sandals are substantial, pleasant fabric foot-bed that is not slippery. The sole is not slippery either. The heel is perfect, not flat. I can not wear high heels because of a broken ankle in the past, so I can not wear flimsy thongs without support. These sandals are secure fitting on the foot and will not slip. The leather strap is substantial with a nice decoration. The only thing, I will take care not to get them wet because of the nice fabric foot-bed. To me, that's worth the price!

I love the look of these sandals - the hardware and details are beautiful, the leather is soft but still rugged and they are super cushoned and very comfortable. I wanted to order every color possible...but when I walked in them, I realized that they are too wide - the right one even more than the left. The sandal moves around with each step, making me grip strongly with my toes to keep them on. I wear a size 8 and the shoe fits my foot perfectly as far as length so I can't get a smaller size.Rather than return them, I like them well enough to cope but I think twice before wearing them if I have to walk far distances or climb lots of stairs (they really want to fall off going up and down stairs).

I bought this shoe 10 years ago after I saw a friend wearing them, and wore them for years until they were finally worn out. I received my new pair last week and am happy with them. I read some other reviews that said the shoe has changed and is now cheap and poor quality. I haven't found that to be the case at all. The sole is as thick and cushy as I remember from my old pair, and the suede on the lining seems to be the same as the previous pair too. I'm very happy with them and expect I'll get as much use out of these as I did my old, beloved pair.

Cheap Chinese garbage.The first pair I bought of the EXACT same shoe years ago had lasted for almost 4 years with daily wear in the summer. I loved them and they were sooooo comfortable from day 1 - they were my favorite pair of shoes. Just last week the rubber sole finally wore out and split, and I had to find a new pair. I was thrilled to see that they still sold them. Unfortunately, just like most things, they are no where near as good as they used to be.I just got these today and they are horrible. They are at least half a size (probably a bit more) too small and the leather piece that goes between the toes is actually sharp (glue blob at the top that I will have to trim off with a knife) and it managed to leave a nice big welt on my foot the first time I tried them on - painful! My heel is hanging off the back and there is no way this is the right size.If I had known that these were now made in China, I would never have bought them, especially at this ridiculous price. Complete garbage. So disappointed. Used to be a good brand. Not any more!
