Excellent product for septic system maintenance. We have been using this product for many years with excellent results. If faithfully used it will keep your septic system in good health. Since we have been using this product at several of homes and rentals with septic systems, we have never had a problem with undigested sludge in the septic tank, or undigested solids in our drain fields. We don’t even have to pump our tanks unless we are just curious about their status - which has always revealed them to be in excellent condition. We still have to deal with roots, but this product is not designed to destroy roots. Green pig is safe to handle, easy to use (one solupak down the toilet every 3 months) and very cost effective. Take it from someone who has to maintain 15 different septic tanks/drainfields…

I don't know where to start. My septic field lines had been clogged for a long time. Maybe the clog was in the distribution box. The yard smelled terrible and if the lady of the house did more than one load of cloths - a wonderful natural spring came up in the yard. Started to have my system pumped yearly, and all the so called professionals told me that additives do not work. I was told that the only thing that could be done was pay $3000 to have the lines replaced (Nice). As a matter of fact the last gentleman that came refused to pump my tank and threatened to turn me in to the county unless I paid him on the spot (Even Nicer). I then went to http://inspectapedia.com and read the link on what not to put into a septic tank. They went over so much that I never thought twice of discarding down the drain, such as – alcohol in my mouth watch – old medications – antibacterial soaps – phosphates in laundry detergent – liquid vs powder detergent – brands of dish soap – store brand vs. premium tissue paper, baby wipes, dental floss, etc.. For folks that only want a good product to maintain their septic system what I am about to write really dose not apply. If your septic system has backed up, flooded your house, made your neighbor hood smell like a slaughter house - basically your system has failed. It may even be dead. This is what I did to correct mine. I purchased the five year supply of green pig from Amazon – and followed the directions of some of the previous reviewers that have done more research than my self. As soon as I received Green Pig from Amazon I opened it and poured one year supply in the toilet. Two weeks later I poured another years supply down the drain. One month after that I poured another years supply down the drain. Then I poured one packet down the drain per month - I did this for two more months. Kind of like shocking a swimming pool green with agile – getting the Flora and fauna where it needs to be. Still no positive results at this point. I figured that I gave it the old college try and failed - till one early morning in May I heard all the toilets in the house gurgle (kind of eerie). When I got up the next morning my stomach went to knotting up and was debating calling the jerk that wanted to replace my lines or else. We had rain for about a week after that and when the yard dried up the huge wet spot where grass refused to grow dried up. So for those of you that were in my position – give Green Pig a chance to work – It took my system a few months, and if you system is not physically damaged, just clogged – you may save your self thousands of dollars. + God bless the people at Green Pig, and the only reason that it gets five stars is ten stars are not available.

Seems to do its job. My septic tank pumping company compliments the quality of the tank contents whenever they pump. i just throw a packet in teh toilet every 3 months and flush. How much easier can it get than that?

I have used these for the past 15 years and my septic tank is still in good shape. Keeps everything running smoothly. You just flush down the commode with ease and cleans drains as it dissolves. the pouches are small and easy to just toss in. The design is good.

I have no idea if these are working but I have to assume they are. I use them every two months instead of every three because we have a large family. Don't tell anyone but we've lived in this house (new build) for over ten years, it's never been pumped, and everything is working great! We like to live on the edge ;)

I have used this product for two years and previously although I had no trouble with septic tank my pipe work needed rodding twice a year I then had a problem with discharge side of system so I used the product two years on no rodding and to date no further problems

Had issues in my drainage trenches and I was pretty sure after a lot of effort that there was oily contaminants lining them from the inside. Bottom line…..puddles near the trenches which are far from sexy let me tell you! I attacked the problem from the outside with soil wetting agents and from the inside with Green Pig. No more puddles! Also, was getting some occasional belching of air from the septic back up into toilets which again, is not sexy at all…. This seems resolved as well! 😍

As per advertisement and previous customer review product not working i have use 1 year supply within two week on bed time flush but my tiolet septic tank condition is same water overflow all customer review not geneuine Please Dont Buy this product Delivery process too late approx 30 day to 45 day

I never heard of this stuff before but after having problems with the septic tank in our outhouse at the lake, my Vacum Truck driver suggested I try it. The problem we were having is the sludge at the bottom of our tank wasn't breaking down sufficiently to enable the vac truck to suck it out and it was building up over time to the point to the point where 1/3 of our tank would never be able to be emptied. You get 4 packets of powder which is supposed to equal 1 year of treatments (1 packet every 3 months) Because of the buildup in our tank we put in a single packet with water and then added a second packet after only a month. Three months later the sludge at the bottom of our tank had broken down so allowing the vac truck to suck it out leaving only a quarter of sludge remaining. We just started another treatment of GreenPig and by the next time out tank needs to be emptied we anticipate we'll be able to get down to the bottom of the tank once again. Each packet of GreenPig contains millions of active bacteria which helps speed up the breakdown and digestion of waste making it easier for the vac truck to suck it out. A second benefit of having a healthy septic tank is the lower odour from the efficient breakdown of waste. It's too early to tell if this GreenPig Formula will breakdown all the sediment left in our septic tank but it definitely works to help break it down. I will update my review in a few more months and let you know how it's going but so far we've been pleased with the results and will continue to use this treatment and see how it goes.
