RADSticker peel & stick, nuclear radiation exposure determining dosimeter

I will be applying this RADSticker onto the back of my library card, "I never leave home without it". This little device is meant to carry with you at all times. As a previous reviewer noted, "This dosimeter works at a very high range.", This is true. It is also meant to give an accumulative reading over the life of the device. also noted, "...50% of people die is 500 Rem or 500 Rads." This sticker is not just for instant readings. It is used as an accumulator device. 500 RADS in a short period of time can be a terrible thing. 500 RADS over the course of a year does not mean that 50% have been given a death sentence. Having said that, it is prudent to check your RADSticker on a regular basis. You could be exposed to a moderate dose without knowing. Since you check your RADSticker on a regular basis, you are ready with the baseline reading in case of a radiological event. This gives you the knowledge to share with medical staff if you feel that you have been exposed to a high rate over a short period of time. Buy one for the spouse and kids. I do not have a spouse or kids, If I did I would make a picture locket and place my picture inside and the RADSticker on the back of the picture. P.S. I have purchased several of these awesome devices to send to my circle of goto people.

I bought this so I'd see what one of these looks like. I'm featuring it as a prop in a book I'm writing. So, I haven't a clue how well this works, and hope I never have the kind of experience that'd show me whether or not it does. However, this device IS tiny. It's discreet.The peel & stick works well, and it's pretty easy to read and understand. I like it and I'm glad I ordered one. If you read alarming headlines from survivalist-type resources and wonder if you SHOULD be worried about unreported radiation... well, snag a couple of these, just in case. You'll probably sleep better at night, knowing it's one less thing to worry about. My book character has one in her wallet, one on her refrigerator door, one on her bathroom mirror, and one stuck to her bottle of anti-radiation (potassium iodide) tablets. (If you're seriously concerned about radiation... well... for the low price, why not place a few in highly visible locations, just in case?) The design is good and the price is great.

I truly hope I never see it work, but overall it's a great little product. Stick it anywhere....car....garden....window....backpack....etc. It's uses are endless.

Recently ordered one of these little buggers as part of a preparedness kit as I recently moved to an area that has a nuclear plant. They are very tiny, and the "always on" nature of them is pretty cool! It's worth noting that apparently they've more recently modified the scale on these to note exposure in Millisieverts, which is awesome, as it's a more common unit of measurement than RADs. Quite happy with it, and will be carrying it on on the back of some card in the my Wallet from now on!

I bought three of these stickers. One for my wallet, one for my wife and one for the emergency supplies. These stickers look like a good deal, I haven't been exposed to radiation yet so I don't know how well they work but for a couple of dollars this will greatly add to my peace of mind if there were a threat. As I mentioned I will keep one on my person, one with my wife and one as a "control" sticker at the house. This way I will be able to check and see if I was exposed to anything more or less than the house. For a couple of dollars these are totally worth it, buy these with some potassium iodide.

...but I'd have preferred that they ship it wrapped in foil to protect it a bit more. It seems it's been irradiated a bit during shipping already, so there's no way to get a totally "fresh" sticker, but still. It's pretty easy to understand the instructions. Can't rightly give it 5 stars until an emergency actually allows it to do its job! :) ***EDIT 4/5/2013 *** I contacted the shipper and he packed my next order a bit better, in a foil baggie. Very quick response and I may order again for some extra stickers for friends.

After Fukushima. This is something thar for the price it gives you a clear picture to exposure over a certain period of time. It is a dosimeter. Not to sensitive to low level exposure. But it does give you lifetime exposure rate. For the price of a couple hundred or thousand dollars equipment it gets the job done. I put it in the back of my driver license. Check it periodically for any changes. If you do get a change in sensor strip. It will be time to make a choice to leave or stay and face the outcome. Been in the Gulf war and Middle East theater. I definitely recommend this.

The label is the size of a postage stamp and hard to read and have been shown in actual size, as not to mislead or have shown the dimensions of the sticker.
