I was given a free sample of this product by my hairdresser and I have been hooked ever since. This is the only product that I can put on my flyways by my roots and it does not make my hair feel greasy. I use it when I straighten my hair and I could feel a difference in how soft and not frizzy my hair is. If I let my hair air dry and then plan to braid it, I use this to smooth it out, and it allows for curls to look more healthy, shiny, and have no frizz It also has a light scent that I have difficulty describing, but very much enjoy. However, my mother who is sensitive to smells, cannot stand it. Might be something worth considering if you are sensitive as well. Out of all of the products, such as the shampoo, conditioner, and this magical oil, I recommend the oil mostly for the fact that LASTS FOREVER. you don’t need to use much of it for it to be effective, and my first small bottle that I purchased, lasted me from December until almost April with nearly daily use. The prices of Davine’s products had me hesitant to try them, but it is very high quality, especially this oil.

I’ve tried so many oils over the years- Mizani, Amika, Gisou, Aussie, Nexxus, Verb, HASK, regular organic pressed oils, OGX, etc. I feel like every single one gives me the same results- it either looks oily and eventually makes the rest of your hair oily, heavy, accentuates the damage you have and makes it greasily shiny, OR it’s very lightweight and just disappears into your hair or evaporates from your hair without actually doing anything. When I looked at the ingredients, I was like “Great, this is overpriced basic bs.” And when I pumped out this oil into my hands, I was like “Oh good lord, this feels like every other oil out here.” Except, when I applied it to my hair, it didn’t FEEL like every oil out here. It’s the only thing that makes the coarse parts of my hair soft without making it look oily. Smells like nag champa , which is awesome. Also full of antioxidants, helps with DETANGLING which is rare for me (usually oils just make my hair stick together) and I actually feel like it penetrates my fine hair strands instead of sitting on top, and the effects don’t disappear after 5 minutes. My curls look shiny, healthy and bouncy. I will never ever ever ever get another hair oil or even think about it. Once I find something that works, there’s no need to argue with success. I have very high expectations for the products I use, because if I’m going to be spending money, it better do exactly what it says it’s going to do, and this does. I got the smallest container and I use it every night and still have a lot left over. You won’t be disappointed, and I don’t think you will ever look back after getting this either.

I bought this to see if I could increase the shine & manageability of my hair. II have naturally blonde hair & some years ago a new to town stylist offered an exceptional savings of $100 tax & tip included, for a keratin tx plus wash, condition, & style. She kept asking if I Wanted "money piece highlights". I said no thanks & mentioned I really liked the multi-colored, natural blonde I was born with. I can't know what she did but knowing what a keratin tx is, I am pretty sure I didn't get that & I think she experimented with color & quite literally burned off the front pieces of my hair. It's been about 5 years now & while I still have damage, it's growing back. So that's a win. Dealing with the damage has been a constant battle between protein (keratin) & moisture. It's definitely a balancing act & I've tried many products. I find being product loyal over brand loyal has worked for me. Now, I use aphogee 2 step keratin tx, rinse twice, apply the follow up with the conditioner that comes with the set, rinse then use It's a 10 miracle conditioner mask, rinse, towel dry then apply several pumps of this through the lengths of my hair & around the front damaged pieces, to be a winning combo. I tried the 1.69oz to see how the product would do on my mid thigh length hair. It's not at all heavy or greasy. It does feel heavy in my hand but once I rubbed my hands together & rubbed it all over from crown down then blow dried, it literally soaked into my hair strands & when I was walking through the yard, my husband said, "OMG! turn around!Your hair is so shiny!". You know it's a good thing when your better half notices your good hair ;) For me, this was a really good product that definitely made my hair shiny & seemed to improve manageability, though that could have also been the keratin tx. For now, I'll recommend the product & I'm writing the review only after I've already purchased the bigger bottle. Even as long as my hair is, I feel like the smaller bottle was a decent size & will last a little while.

My sister (who also has grey curly hair) sent me my 1st bottle of this. When I discovered how expensive it is, I was barely using any! But I gradually learned that with careful conservative application & applying it when my hair is still damp from being washed, I didn't need conditioner or styling products. It's got an amazing herbal smell (not sweet) and it is just superior to all the "shine" products out there - even the Giovanni shine products that don't contain silicone, don't leave my hair feeling silky and amazing like this stuff. I just bought my 2nd bottle and it is THE. BEST. PRODUCT for lightweight curly and dry grey hair. Excellent product!

This oil truly does make a difference in how my hair looks and is definitely not too greasy. Reduces the amount of heat I need to use on my hair since it softens and smooths. As far as performance, it is a great product. I only wash my hair once a week and I can layer this on my ends every day without my hair feeling disgusting. HOWEVER it smells so cheap! It kind of pisses me off when I smell it because it has a cheap baby oil type scent. Reminds me of the way really old perfumes smelled when I used to go to Pic-n-save. I have a spray version of a similar product from this brand that I like even better than this, but it smells the same. Throughout the day I'll get wiffs of my hair and I get annoyed. For a while I was getting headaches and wondered if it was connected to how much I hated the smell, but I think that might be a little dramatic. I struggled between giving this 3 or 4 stars but I gave it 4 just because I figured I'd err on the side of being more forgiving since the smell may be pleasant to others and it might just be me. Really works great to reduce frizz and increase shine and softness without making hair greasy.

I have gray hair that’s fine and has different textures. This oil makes it soft and manageable. I never would have tried a hair oil, but my hairdresser used it. It completely absorbs into my hair and never weighs it down or makes it greasy. And I personally love the fragrance. It can be used on your body too. I got the small size because my hair is short and I don’t use it on my body very often.

The only oil I can use on my thinning frizzy gray hair. I use very sparingly, 2-3 small drops. Tames the frizz, doesn’t weigh my hair down and moisturizes. Win/win!
