You can use this from spring to fall for seed and fertilizers and throughout winter for salt, ice melt and sand. Our 8740A hand shaker spreader is designed to go in areas where a standard spreader can’t go. It easy to operate with one hand, with or without gloves. There’s less wear parts and simple twist to change openings based on your material. You can even store it with ice melt, salt, seed or fertilizer in it and it stands upright on a shelf.

Perfect size for distributing any type of granules, and it's more convenient than having to use a large wheeled spreader. I like the rotating top that allows me to adjust the rate at which the granules are released.
