I owned all 3: GV30,31,50
So, I think the winner is GV31! All have incredible design, sound, picture, and convenience(auto-focus, battery). Watching on ceiling while in bed is a must, and no extra stands needed. I’m literally considering selling my LG OLED tv, as the picture size is incredible. The little 720p GV30 projected onto my wall with a 180” diagonal, and still looked great! But the GV30’s Drop to 720p is somewhat noticeable as well as its lack of Netflix compatibility, but $250 is a perfect price, and you won’t be disappointed if u are a casual user or a young family watching movies. All projector have HDMI PORTS, but the GV30 is the only one that has just enough internal space to all the BenQ dongle to be replaced with an Amazon Fire Stick Lite. It will allow Netflix, and some people can turn the Amazon Stick into a video game console. The GV50 would have been the best, but it was incredibly laggy! Took an hour to setup, Google TV built in forced BenQ to compromise the quality of the user interface. I could stand the long delays with remote inputs, it was many seconds long, each click on the remote. Also, you can plug in your own Amazon/Roku/Apple TV into the ports, but for convenience and travel, it defeats the purpose to a degree. If you intend to use an Apple TV, or other dongle, then this projector is for you. But I prefer portability, grab and go, no extra parts, cable. The GV 31, seemed to have the least fan noise. I watch at night with very low volume, and the fan was noticeably less loud, however, a nice bonus. With normal volume, all three projectors produced incredible sound, you can’t hear the fan noise. For Yaber T and L, the fan was much much louder in comparison. Also, Android TV on GV 31 is better than the GV50 google TV, by far! If google or BenQ can update the OS and remove the delays, then GV50 would be the best, with 500 ANSI Lumens. But for now, using it was a nightmare. Please fix it BenQ! I’d pick up the following at these prices GV50: $600 or below GV31: $450 or below(Winner) GV30: $250 or below I kept the GV 31, seems to be the best value, in my opinion. Bonus, if you plug you nintendo switch directly into the GV 31 or 50, its works immediately, no nintendo dock needed! You need a specific USB-C cable that supports video and PD(power delivery) for about $15-$25. I recommend Belkin or CableMatters.

Great projector for nighttime, outside use!
Bought this for using outside and it works as advertised. Picture quality and sound are great! Excellent projector, we will use it inside too. I love the compact size, auto adjust, connectivity. The only glitch I found was buffering when using the included QS01 ATV Dongle and watching YouTube TV, so I used a HDMI adapter to my iPhone, and no buffering.

Game changer
Well designed and produces very high quality video on my bedroom ceiling. Excellent sound also. Complete control using the remote. Even portable with internal battery if needed. Huge size video, much better than normal TV screen. Auto focus. Works just like a Roku. One caution is to not change the language to something foreign since there is no factory reset and doing so converts all control to that foreign language making it worthless unless you speak and read Serbo-Croation for instance. Danger is you may never get out of bed again!! Just plug it in and connect to WiFi and you're ready to go. Also has HDMI and USB inputs which work well.

Great portable outdoor projector, but with limited brightness
This projector was great overall: simple to set up, portable, quickly connected to wifi and streaming, the picture quality was nice, the sound quality was decent out of the box, and all while being relatively affordable. However, this projector was not bright enough for use as an outdoor projector in shaded/low light as implied in the description and is really usable only after sunset. Luckily the seller, Premium AV, was responsive and helpful throughout the return process and also got me the product I needed!

A nice little projector!
This is the third projector I purchased in a week. The first two were horrible unknown brands. They were cheap at around $100. You get what you pay for. I returned them both for various reasons. This projector was a bit more expensive but worth every penny for my purposes. It's easy to use, light, great picture quality, and very quiet. The only thing I am missing is the ability to make the picture smaller from a distance - you have to move it closer to get smaller. All in all, I am pretty happy with my purchase so far.

Significant malfunctioning after only 11 months of use
I purchased BenQ GV30 Portable Projector 13 months ago, it has been in use for less than a year (around 8 months of use) and is now malfunctioning very frequently. Tells me i need to pair my remote with the device. Sometimes tells me this every 30 seconds. The two are already paired, confirmed by the fact that I use the remote to remove the warning. Even when I pair it as instructed, message comes right back. Even if i use my phone as the remote instead of the actual remote thia still happens (confirming perhaps that the remote is not the problem). I have replaced remote control batteries, i have restarted device, I have disconnected and reconnected from wifi. I have zeroed out the device to factory settings and still the problem persists. It is extremely frustrating - this is not a device that i should need to purchase once a year. I will only consider revising this review/rating if their customer service and tech support provide service & support. Otherwise, all i have is an expensive paperweight.

Love this product
I had been using a really cheap/ poor quality projector for about a year for the mere purpose of wanting to reduce the fun in watching TV. However, I realized that watching sports during the day was difficult so I began my search for a better quality projector. I did my research on different brands, the pros/cons with volume, resolution, quality, adaptability with chromecast etc. and came across the BenQ Portable projector. What sold me was it's ability to be transported. I wanted something where I can have movie nights outside this fall with my bluetooth headphones (as to not disturb my neighbots), as well as good resolution to be able to watch sports during the day. I do think the price is high and not within everyone's budget esp for something that is not 4k resolution. However, I will say that the resolution is great for day time sports watching and at night I really get the movie theater experience, especially when I hook it up to my speakers. I am happy with this product and think if the price is within your budget and you are looking for something compact, portable and good day-time resolution, then this is the product for you.

A Game-Changer in Home Entertainment - BenQ GV30 Projector Review
I recently purchased the BenQ GV30 projector, and I must say it has completely exceeded my expectations. This compact yet powerful device has transformed my home entertainment experience in more ways than one. 1. Decent Visuals: The GV30's 720p resolution delivers crisp and vibrant visuals, providing an immersive viewing experience for movies, gaming, and presentations. The color accuracy and brightness levels are outstanding, making every detail come to life. The 720p resolution is a bit lower than I would like, but for this price point you can't really expect any higher. 2. Compact and Portable Design: One of the standout features of the GV30 is its sleek and portable design. Setting it up is a breeze, and its compact size makes it easy to move around. Whether I'm using it in the living room for movie nights or taking it outdoors for a backyard cinema experience, the GV30 adapts seamlessly. It's design is perfect for projecting onto the ceiling, which allows for a nice movie experience lying down in bed! 3. Versatility in Connectivity: The projector offers a wide range of connectivity options, including HDMI and USB-C. This flexibility ensures compatibility with various devices, from streaming platforms and gaming consoles to smartphones and laptops. AirPlay with my iPhone works perfectly out of the box, but I have heard some people having issues with their units. 4. Impressive Sound Quality: The built-in speakers deliver surprisingly rich and clear sound. While external audio options are always a plus, the GV30's integrated audio is more than sufficient for casual viewing and eliminates the need for additional accessories. 5. Smart Features and User-Friendly Interface: Navigating through menus and adjusting settings is intuitive thanks to the user-friendly interface. The GV30 also comes equipped with smart features that enhance the overall user experience, making it an ideal choice for both tech enthusiasts and casual users. In conclusion, the BenQ GV30 projector has become my go-to projector for movies in bed. Its impressive visual quality, portability, and user-friendly features make it a top-notch choice for anyone in search of a reliable and versatile projector. I highly recommend the GV30 to elevate your movie nights, gaming sessions, and presentations to a whole new level. Docking a star as 720p is a bit on the low side, and the unit also lacks horizontal keystone.
