can these be powered with usb?

Yes it can ! USB is about 5 volts and the product specifications says from 3 to 12 volts (VDC) And I was curious so I have connected on of these LED's to 5 volts DC and they light real good. I could not see the difference between 5 or 12 volts, it's amazing! I have bought many LED's from China but most of them are bad quality, for example the cables to thin so you could not do much with it or the broke.. But this set is perfect for me.
