**Q: The air vent valve i need has an od of the threads at the bottom of 5/8"      is this the correct item?**
A: You need a 1/2" up, because pipe size is inside so the out side is 5/8"

**Q: The vent on top, looks like 1-16 inch. are the threads npt or bst or what?**
A: The cap is  for protection. It appears to be the same thread as found on a tire valve stem. The cap appears to be the same as a tire valve cap.
