Attention Cat People: THIS!
My cat isn’t typically picky- we found him as a kitten in a Disneyland parking lot, so he’s kind of a laid back, carefree guy who will eat almost anything (he loves turkey legs and churros, but that’s not sustainable). The problem is, nothing excited him, food-wise. He always seemed to be intensely bored with both his kibble and his wet food lol. The only thing that ever interested him was when we opened of a can of tuna, and we know that’s not good for him. Getting home from In n Out the other day, I watched as my cat strolled over to his bowl, maintaining eye contact with me the entire time (maybe glancing at the bag in my hand for emphasis), and the look on his face very clearly said, “In n Out? Seriously? But for me this kibble stuff AGAIN? What. Ever.” So I decided to look for something that would give him some food joy, and $10 was definitely not too much to spend in my quest. SHOCKING results. Like you know when you order something weird on Amazon and you can imagine both the best and the worst possible outcomes? This was the best possible- plus a rainbow and a unicorn. My cat LOVES this food. He is sitting outside of my bedroom door right now staring at me, something he hasn’t done a lot since he was young (don’t miss it that much tbh), waiting for his breakfast. He also follows me to the kitchen, tries to redirect me if I get distracted, and puts both paws up on the cupboard door and talks to me when he knows I’m rehydrating the chicken. I obviously can’t be certain, but I think what he’s saying is, “It’s about time! Real food! thank you thank you thank you! I love you so much!” Is this magic? Totally worth $10! We put a few in water and let them sit for a minute, then use a fork to break them up to a consistency that looks a lot like cooked ground turkey. If there’s extra water, my cat thinks it’s gravy, and he laps that up, which is also good for hydration. No smell! I believe some people felt the price was too high, but we only use 3 or 4 of the nuggets for our huge beast of a cat. Once re-hydrated, we mix it with his kibble to help slow down his eating (because he was totally scarfing this stuff at first). The $10 bag has lasted a week, and there’s plenty left. This is one of those purchases I felt obligated to write a review for, because the world is a really stupid place, and we all need to stick together and share the genuinely good (not being paid to say that, I have no stake in this), just really good, stuff :) :)

good for ferrets
ferrets absolutely love this food, will never feed them anything else. super high protein but price is a bit extreme. it’s easy to mush the pieces in water or just feed dry.

Ferret approved
We buy this for my ferret. She loves it. It’s not hard always fresh when I open it. We have never had an issue with this product. Great amount for the price. Pretty good quality per ferret.

Good Quality and great product, but too expensive
My cats love these. I don't feed it to them exclusively because it's too expensive, but it's great as a topper on their wet food or mixed in with their dry food. Very good quality food and my cats like it. I gave it a 4 only because of the cost. Wish it were not so expensive. It's extremely difficult buying quality, premium cat food these days because the prices are outrageous. I want to feed my cats the best, but it really breaks the bank. I make their own food now with real chicken, beef, turkey, etc. It costs a fraction of commercial canned/dry food and so much better for them, but I still purchase premium cat food as a back up.

Great as a topper too!
I feed my cats a true raw meat diet and I primarily use this as a dry topper. They love the duck/goose, chicken, turkey and rabbit flavors. If one of the cats has an upset stomach, I will feed them a small amount of the freeze dried morsels reconstituted with water.

My kitties LOVE THIS STUFF!!
I have 3 outside cats and I have been feeding them canned Fancy Feast gravy lovers grilled food. They enjoyed it, but I wanted to switch them over to something healthier and natural without fillers, by-products etc. Raw seemed the way to go and since the freeze dried is more convenient and has just about the same nutritional profile as fresh raw, I thought I’d give Stella & Chewy’s a try. I started them out with two morsels for each of them mixed in with their regular wet food. I added a little extra warm water to soften the morsels. They ate it with no problem. I slowly increased the amount of the freeze dried food over the next two weeks so that they were eventually each having 1/3 of a 3 oz can of wet mixed with 16 morsels for each of them 2x’s daily (so each cat was getting 2/3 can of wet and 32 morsels per day divided into two meals). I noticed they were leaving food in the dish, but on closer inspection, what they were leaving were the flakes of “meat” from the canned food and not the freeze dried. When I removed the canned, they licked the dishes clean. So now I only feed them the freeze dried food….no more cans. I’ve been giving them the all the various flavors (except the rabbit…way too expensive) and they enjoy them all. Several reviewers mentioned that the morsels arrived crushed (typically bad packing when that happens), but honestly, it really makes no difference to me if some are crushed because when I add warm water it simply becomes like a pate’ which my cats are perfectly happy with.

Delivery is poor, product is great
Love the food for my cat, who has a very sensitive GI system . But we are often disappointed about delivery & how much is crushed in the process. Stella & Chewy is the best, no doubt.

My five cats love the beef!
My cats love the beef flavor!!!! My cats also love the chicken but the turkey, not so much. I haven’t bought the other flavors yet. I wish this wasn’t so pricey as my cats love it. I do hydrate it but it took about 3 minutes to make sure it had soak the water like a sponge as I wanted my 5 cats to get all the liquids they need as they are on an all wet food diet. It’s also great crushing it with my hand and sprinkling it on top or mixing it on their wet food. One of my cats even drinks the leftover “broth” that it creates after they are all the soaked up the pieces. When I give them the pieces, I find that it’s easier for them to eat it when you cut it in half with a fork. I included a photo comparing its size to the treats. Once moistened, it doesn’t change in size but it does get softer. It’s easier to cut it in half when it’s a bit dampened by the water. I will get more but only with a discount as this is very pricey. I wished I bought more when it was on a discount but I don’t know how much they would like it. I also store it in plastic containers as my cats can smell it from the original bags that it comes in and they try to bite the bag to get through the food.
