Hayward SP0715XR50 Pro Series Vari-Flo Control Valve

After a winter freeze, our pool valve started to leak from the top. The top cap held on by the multiple bolts formed multiple cracks. This was the original valve and at least 10 years old. It has been in direct sun for most of it’s life. After search for a lengthy time on multiple pool sites I settled on this valve. It was impossible to find just the top portion of the valve without having to purchase the entire assembly. After purchasing this valve I spent about 10 minutes removing the top portion on my original valve and on the new one. I installed the new bolts and the new cap, with handle, on the old valve. It worked perfectly. I did not need to cut out the old valve and cement the new one to the existing PVC pipes, which would have taken a few hours. Very easy repair and thankful this unit is continuing to be sold. The product was new and exactly as described. The repair was completed 2 months ago and it is still working perfectly. Make sure you check your valve part number before ordering to to ensure compatibility.

Exact replacement. So glad I ordered the correct part the 1st Try. SPO715XR50 is for 2" pipe to the filter. Very easy to replace if your pipes have unions in line like mine do. I only had to cut and repair the drain pipe. 1 home depot trip for PVC pipe, glue and pipe thread tape. No more leaks from this. Now off to the next leak. And you need a big adjustable wrench!

First one was delivered with a crack in it, I called Amazon and it's always they were very cooperative and I returned the damaged and got a new one. The new one is working fine

This is my second vari-valve. The first lasted about 8 years...strangely, the plastic welds started to leak and the body sprouted a pin-hole leak! Otherwise, a good valve for a Hayward DE6020 filter.

Same thing as Pinch-a-penny had for 2x price.
