How much Biotin per scoop (1oz) ?

We give our adult horse one scoop of biotin in his afternoon meal. His hooves are fine and he is not shod. The hooves are trimmed every 6 weeks.

Can it be feed alone or does it need to be feed with grain?

If your horse will eat without grain it's ok. It's a ppellet form. Our horses won't eat it alone so we feed it with a little senior feed.

Does the product promote growth/thickening of the sole?

it certainly promotes hoof growth, yes. The sole I am not sure of. It's a good product for horses that have thin, shelly hooves that don't hold shoes well.
