Recommend Quiko Classic Egg Food Supplement
I have been feeding Quicko food to my umbrella cockatoo and other smaller birds (cockatiels, parakeets, etc.) as a vitamin supplement sprinkled on top of their daily food. It is pretty much pure protein and vitamins that I find hard to add to their daily diet of fresh grains, vegetables and fruit. I keep out what I need for a 10 day period and freeze the rest. I think this stuff is great. My birds easily pass their vet checks and many of the smaller birds would be considered elderly for the species. All are health and active, and I attribute a lot of that to this Quiko supplement.

Short time before seeing results
Before buying this stuff I tried to find somewhere that would tell me how long it would take before seeing color results in my canaries. I couldn't find anything, so I decided to try it and then post my findings. I'm very happy to say that only after 1 week of feeding my canaries this food I started to see orange coming through on their wings and neck and behind feathers. Granted, all my canaries were born this spring and are still getting their feathers in (it is September now), but after 3 weeks of this feed they are all turning quite orange in specific places (probably where they are still getting new feathers). I would recommend feeding this to your canaries during the molt if they are older, or right when they are born for maximum results. Granted, this food does not give the canaries a deep red like the Roxanthin does, it'll give more of a deep orange.Great stuff! I just put a little in a small dish next to their normal diet or veggies and seed, and they pick at this eggs stuff as a supplement to their diet. I was nervous at first that they wouldn't eat it cause it smelled awful, but they like it and they are pretty picky eaters!

Good for nestlings
I bought one bag and found my canaries ate this so quickly I usually use chopped boiled eggs in one dish and a dry homemade nestling food in another dish. I felt the fresh egg and my home made mix was better for my birds. One bag was not enough to judge growth of chicks with 4 pairs of parents, since they ate it so quickly. I think the red Quiko mix would be nice for red canary babies.

Quicko Red Egg Food
My canary can't get enough of this food. Even though he isn't a red factor canary, it gives his brown color an orange hue. The protein is outstanding. I used to mix it with a little water and feed it to my baby canaries. It's a bit pricey, but worth every penny. This is a great brand.I love all their products.

Improves Molting and Bird’s Energy!
My bird took a little while to warm up to this new food, but I mixed some of his favorite foods in with it (as suggested) and he eats it every day now! After 2 weeks I have noticed that he has less molting, brighter feathers, and more energy! I also include fresh fruit and vegetables in his diet which may be an additional factor. I also mix his daily helping every day, but you can also pre-make a larger batch and keep it refrigerated. Definitely recommend for a healthy boost in your feathered friend’s diet!

My Wild Birds go Nuts for this!
I have been rehabbing birds for many years and owning insectivores and raising them from nestlings is challenging. My Shama Thrush and Cardinal absolutely go nuts when I open the package of this food! Now that they are full sized, they can eat it normally out of the bag. However, this food will need to be ground in a coffee mixer if you are using it for nestlings and some early fledglings. The pieces of egg are somewhat larger. It's great dry for them or even mixed into water. The bag is NOT re-sealable so that sucks. But you can throw it into a ziplock bag!I've used this on any wild bird (that eats insects) I've rehabbed and it's been fantastic. I just purchased 2 more bags! :)
