Bright light and sturdy product
Very high quality product. It is solid and the light is very bright. I installed this on my H&R Pardner 12 gauge tactical shotgun (a Remington 870 clone) and it fit perfectly. It even came with a Forend Nut Installation and Removal Tool. I wish I would have know that because I bought a separate tool to do the installation but didn’t need it. The ergonomics on this forend feels great and battery installation is accessible and easy.

For my Maverick 88
The TL Racker is not compatible with the stock Maverick 88, since it has a pinned forend. If you want to install this on your Maverick, you will need: 7-3/4” action slide assembly for Mossberg 500/590 Action slide tube nut If these items are out of stock on the Mossberg website you can find them on eBay at a markup. I lucked out and was able to get the slide assembly from Mossberg for $60 ($83 with tax and shipping). Found the nut on eBay for $20. Still cheaper than the $150 most are charging for the full assembly on eBay. As for the light, I really think this is the best solution for mounting a light on your pump shotgun, which can be tricky and expensive. You could mount a light on the end of your mag tube, but then the controls will be out of reach. Or you could get the Magpul Mlok forend (which for Maverick owners would again necessitate replacing the stock slide assembly) and mount your accessories to that. With the TL Racker, the light is integrated into your forend and the controls conveniently located an inch or so from where you grip the pump. The light is very bright and easy to actuate, the ergos are great IMO, and your weapon is nice and streamlined with no wires or protruding attachments. Their is some barrel shadow on top, which gets less and less the further away you get from your target. Mossberg makes some the best and most reliable pump shotguns in the world, but their forends are known to rattle slightly (I’m sure anyone looking to put this on their Mossberg already knows that). Maybe because the TL Racker is larger and heavier than the stock forend, that rattle becomes more pronounced. Their is a decent amount of rotational play, but it does not seem to affect functionality. I have yet to put any rounds through it, but I racked it a whole bunch of times and it seems to work fine. All told, I am very happy with this product. It beats spending more than the price of your shotgun for 6 or 7 attachments. For convenience, effectiveness and price it really can’t be beat, and for you Mossberg 500 and up owners, it’s ready to rock right out of the box. If any issues arise after putting hundreds of round through it, I will update.

Get the black one, not the orange one!
I cannot stress this enough: Get thr black one, not the orange one. 10/10 forend, and 10/10 flashlight. Don't be fooled by 1000 lumens, it's brighter than most 2500 lumen flashlights, because it is high candela. Very bright, easy to use, comes with the tool for install.

Decent in-line light solution
Easy enough to install and is sturdy, light is plenty bright. I had hoped to be able to hook my hand into the notch of the racker for leverage, however this just results in a bruised/injured index finger due to the shock of a full power 12 gauge shot.

Great for a home defense shotgun
Are you thinking of a home defense weapon? Well, a shotgun is a great start. A Mossberg 500/590 or a Remmington 870 would be a nice way to go. Both offer 100s of accessories to create a defense gun that fits your needs. This being said, no home defense weapon should be without a light, a bright light. The "Streamlight" comes with a 1000 Lumen light. This light will cause a bat to flinch. You have two options built into the foregrip, constant on and intermittent. The controls are ambidextrous and very easy to use. The forward button is "light on", the rearward button allows you flash the light on and off to further distract the baddy that has entered the WRONG house. Just racking a pump action shotgun raises the fear factor, add a flashing light in your eyes and most people would turn and run. No shots fired; job well done. Would you use this light outside, probably not, unless your law enforcement or military. I know this may seem like it's a high price, but if you have to add a rail to your gun then find a light that works this easy, you WILL spend more. Be safe, be protected.

Good purchase for home defense shotgun
Good purchase for a home defense shotgun. Easy installation on my Remington 870. The only consideration you might have to worry about is where your sling points are. Mine were at on the bottom of my barrel on front. So I had to purchase a alternate sling point so the sling does not block the light. Even if you don’t there is still ample light, but not the full force of a 1000 lumen light wall.
