This uses USB-C charging. A cable comes provided with purchase.

Q: Will this speaker stand up to being used in the shower in a daily basis?

I've had multiple Bose speakers that were rugged and IP rated better each time ---- but I've had multiple because they die on me after being dropped on the bathroom tile occasionally while being above my shower almost daily. So my question is how well the IP rating is retained after lots of drops

Yes, and it's very easy using the Alexa app on your phone

Q: Hi, does it come with a carrying case?

No. All it comes with are the manuals and a USB Type C cable you can plug into a TV or computer (or you'll need your own USB to electrical outlet adapter) But I don't really think you need a carrying case if all you want to do is protect the speaker. If you buy the black one you won't get it dirty and it's a very rugged speaker.
