I love the look of this sweet little microwave and it does not take up a huge amount of counter space. It is super quiet when it is running. I am underwhelmed with its power. Everything takes longer to heat up. Also, the interior light does not come on while heating, so it is hard to monitor the process. Overall, I am pleased.

There's so much about this oven that I don't like, but I'm only subtracting one star, as my opinion may be biased. My old microwave recently "died". It was an awesome Tappan that gave me 25 years of reliable, quiet and beautiful use. That's right, 25 years! Anyway, I had size, color, price and wattage constraints, and this retro microwave seemed to be the best choice. But, it is noisy. It's really loud when opening and closing the door: KKLANGGG!!! And the 3 beeps that anounce the end are long, loud and really annoying (the sound cannot be silenced). Of course you cannot ask for say, a 15 second heat-up. It's got to be in 10 second intervals, or you must stand next to the oven and push the cancel button when you want it to stop. There is no light that comes on when you open the door which really strikes me as wierd. And finally, when I first set the thing up in the kitchen, the black, oval-shape viewing glass is completely black, but like a mirror. It reminded me of a space or deep sea diving helmet. It creeped me out. I kept wondering if there was a space monster lurking behind that glass... (ha,ha). Well, I have finally gotten used to the mirror glass, but I really hate the noises, and will keep looking for a better machine.
