As the owner of Devil n Dove, I am thrilled with the Teton-Bond Petrobond Fine Foundry Metal Casting Sand. This 130 mesh sand is perfect for achieving high detail in our casting projects. We use it regularly to create intricate jewelry pieces and small metal parts, and the results are always impressive. The 5lb pack provides just the right amount for our needs, and the sand's fine texture ensures excellent detail and smooth surfaces. If you need top-quality casting sand for detailed work, this is an excellent choice. Highly recommend for any jeweler or metalworker!

Excellent product especially if you're working with lower melting point metals. As described, the part you have to get rid of does turn black and pretty much entirely sticks to what you've poured. Didn't need a ton of effort to get the form to turn out. I will say, if you're doing a larger form that's flat, make sure you press the sand pretty well so you don't get any kind of, "pour" stuck in what you're casting. On my second try it worked exactly as advertised with the finish being pretty smooth. Only very minor sanding was required, and I do mean minor. This is a great product and I'd recommend it. If you haven't done any metal casting before you'll need to do a little trial and error to get it right (like I did) but the sand works.
