Yes it can get wet. It will not insulate well until it is dried out again. If it gets wet and freezes, over time the fibers will break apart and it will deteriorate.

Yes, but why when regular fiberglass in much cheaper? This product in intended for temperature much higher than any HVAC requires. You may want to use this for an exhaust from a furnace flue to insulate the high temps (in excess of 200 degrees F.) from other parts of the furnace or structural components of a building.

Okay to wrap around a single walled stovepipe using duct tape?

the kaowool is good to 2200 degrees direct flame and 2400 intermittent it will melt at 3200 degrees I definitely would not use duct tape to wrap it you can get the metal fireproof type tape at home depot and use that I would take a temperature check of the single wall pipe at operating temperature before I began
