Background: I've been struggling with hormonal acne with painful cysts for years. At one point I was on aldactone for a year. I was able to control it decently well with diet changes but still have had some trouble areas on my jaw line and chin. I have to check the ingredients for makeup and if there's even 1 slightly comedogenic ingredient I can't use it or I break out in little red bumps. I took a chance on this face wash and I'm SO glad I did. My skin is more clear than it's been in years and it's not irritating at all! I feel like I've found the holy Grail. I'm scared to try the toner and moisturizer since it stays on the skin all day but I may eventually. I currently use the Amazon brand makeup removing wipes, this face wash, and vanicream twice a day and I'm down to only a little concealer and powder for face makeup!

I have used this product for years under the former name of Aqua Glycolic. It keeps my face clean and smooth. My daughter find it helps tremendously for her acne. The acne flairs as soon as she stops using it. As for as I can tell the Mederma replacement for Aqua Glycolic is the same for the face cleanser, toner and face cream. I am pleased Amazon sells these products as they are hard to find in a store. Re the question how often does the product need to be applied? This is an odd question and the answer choices are not appropriate. The answer is however times you wash your face which for most people and me is twice a day.

This cleanser is great especially for the price. I am pregnant and was looking for a cleanser without salicylic acid that would keep my skin moist and free from breakouts. This product contains glycolic acid which is an AHA instead of salicylic acid which is a BHA. The glycolic acid still provides a light peel which helps to exfoliate dry and dead skin. I have had clear skin since I started using this product. The product advertises as a moisturizing wash which is a bit misleading. I still need to use a moisturizer after use as with any light peel the skin may slough just a little. Glycolics are less drying than salicylic acids however so this product is a good alternative for those with dry skin or those who are pregnant and need to avoid salicylic acids.

I discovered this cleanser AFTER it changed from the original formula I've seen other reviewers mention so I cant speak on the comparison. However this works for me. I have always struggled with moderate acne. My teenage years left me with scarring pretty much everywhere but mostly on my cheeks and temples. I tried many over the counter acne systems including proactive which always made my breakouts worse with more hyperpigmentation. Those dark spots always took forever to go away! As an adult I mostly have stubborn acne on my chin/jawline & this stuff beats it. I feel so proud of my skin (though still self conscious about the scarring). My skin has never been so clear. I use the wash with a baby washcloth and the toner with a cotton ball and it leaves my skin so clean. It does not remove makeup thoroughly though. You will need a makeup remover prior to the wash. I really love how cost friendly this stuff is & recommend anyone suffering with stubborn acne to give it a try for a few months. The only unfortunate thing is that I've begun getting laser hair removal and you cannot use this a week prior & after so I have lost the clearness I was so happy about. Once these treatments are done I look forward to having clear skin again thanks to this cleanser.

I have been using this product for years. I wanted something with alpha hydroxy in the ingredients. Its gental yet effective. I have had so many compliments on my skin from total strangers. Now granted it helps if you've taken care of your skin in the first place, don't smoke, use sunscreen etc. I can definitely say this is an added bonus to help with rough, dry, and dull skin. Won't use anything else.

I have been using Mederma Facial Cleanser for over 40 years -- I love it -- gentle but cleans with glycolic acid to help avoid (or clear up) blemishes. I was afraid I would never be able to buy this again because I saw it online for ridiculously high prices (which usually means clearance). Then I saw Pharmapacks had it at the old price and bought two. They were shipped in a sturdy box and the bottles were sealed with easy to remove tape. I was very pleased with the fast shipping.

I have been using this face wash for several years (5?). Used to be AquaGlycolic, I don't think they have changed the formula. Hope not. I have acne prone skin, even at age 55. Sigh. This is a great face wash! Keeps the skin turning over but doesn't irritate. Maybe you should build up a little slowly in the beginning. Sometimes I leaving on my face for a while as an exfoliating mask. Sometimes sleep with it on (but is a little sticky). Even healthy balanced skin would benefit from it. I really do think it is an excellent product and I have been in and out of dermatologists office for the past 40 years and spent a fortune on various products, mostly disappointing ones.

I used Aqua Glycolic for about 2 years before they were purchased by this company. Unfortunately, and despite Mederma's claims, it is not the same product. Sure, it looks the same - but as many other reviewers have pointed out - the ingredients are different. Its effects are also different. It is nowhere near as potent as it used to be. For my face, at least, I could get away with applying Aqua Glycolic once every three days and not have a breakout. This product forces me to use it every day. Luckily for Mederma, I still haven't found a glycolic acid product that works this well for me - so I'm sticking with it. It's just saddening that a company would fundamentally change a fantastic product to be mediocre, and then continue to claim that it was the same. Hope you all enjoy your profit margin increase :)

This product was recommended by a big name pregnancy app as it is safe for treating acne while pregnant. Sadly it didn't help me. I started using it as an overnight spot treatment instead of a regular face wash, then I noticed my skin would not get worse. Maybe once the pregnancy hormones subside it'll work better for me.

Package delivered as expected timeline, but inside the package, the bottle cap was taped very bad way. All the liquid floated inside the bottle cap.
