It has an extension pole and various heads to use. So I'd say it is at least as effective as any other vacuum. **Q: Does this lay flat enough to vacuum under a large bed with just a few inches of clearance?** A: Yes...it's flat enough to do under the bed. It's even flat enough to go under my sectional couch and oversized chair and ottoman. Great vacuum...plenty of power. **Q: What is the horsepower** A: The horsepower is 1.18. HP isn't the only factor though. Design, the motor, and many things come into play. I had the Platinum sh1000 I think it was. It was amazing and not as much power. It had the best bags too, HEPA. I hope they have some for this vacuum. I would recommend it, it has twice the power the Oreck has. **Q: how much the weight of the machine?** A: I can't say for sure, but I am a small woman 76 years old, weigh 105 pounds and I clean upstairs and downstairs carrying this vacum cleaner in a couple hours and it doesn't feel heavy to me, nor do I have any aches and pains from vacuuming. This vacuum cleaner is powerful and so wonderful. ## Frequently Bought Together - Hoover Commercial PORTAPOWER Lightweight Canister Vacuum Cleaner with Attachments, Portable Carriable Handheld Small Professional Grade Bagged, 8 Pounds, CH30000, Black - Hoover Commercial Portapower Vacuum Cleaner Bags for Compact Canister Vacuum, Pack of 5, Green White Standard Type N Filtration Bags, For Use in Canister Vacuums - Hoover PortaPower Carrying Bag with Padded Shoulder Strap, 14.25" x 8" x 8", Black (Vacuum Not Included) --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.nz/products/3712057-portapower-lightweight-vacuum-cleaner](https://www.desertcart.nz/products/3712057-portapower-lightweight-vacuum-cleaner) --- *Product available on Desertcart New Zealand* *Store origin: NZ* *Last updated: 2026-10-07*
