Inferior Rabbit Knockoff
First, let me say that whoever invented this gizmo is a genius on a level with Edison and Tesla, IMO.For years I have used a device called the Velvet Corkscrew, a simple and effective means of opening a wine bottle, but one that requires a lot of twisting -- not easy for a senior arthritis sufferer like myself. So when a friend used an opener like this one by Ozetti to open a champagne bottle on New Year's Eve -- I knew I had to get one.If you've never tried one of these, you will be amazed. You raise the top lever, clamp the lower one around the neck of the wine bottle, lower the top lever with one easy push, and extract the wine cork by raising the lever once again. Then push the lever down one more time to release the cork from the spiral.Zoop, zoop, zoop, and the deed is done. No twisting, pulling, grunts, groans, or hassles of any kind!Unfortunately, this particular model's build quality is very poor. The lever hinges seem to have some play in them; no one would describe this device as a sterling example of precision machinery. After less than a year of light use, in fact, the mechanism is already jamming, requiring that I push the spiral down onto a bottle's cork, rather than simply lift the lever, to get the spiral to lift up into the starting position.Otherwise, this unit comes with a foil cutter and spare spiral. I wish the manufacturer had provided a storage pouch; I'm using the product box to hold the components, a less than elegant solution. The long and short of it is, I wish I had bought the original Rabbit opener, of which this Ozetti is a cheap knockoff. The Rabbit is more expensive but worth it if it's better made.PROS:* Simple, easy operation.* Comes with foil opener, spare spiral.* Reasonably priced compared to the Rabbit original.CONS:* Poor build quality.* No storage pouch provided.

This device does work well
I was thinking that this cork screw would take up less room than the one with the original "rabbit" style multi handled lever device and it does , but not by much , yet still better. It works as advertised or described and truly is a handy device that turned out to be the best mechanical corkscrew with a lever that I owned or used.

Excellent Vertical Design Makes Opening Wine Far Easier
We are very pleased with this Ozetti wine opener. First of all, the vertical design is far easier to use than the "horizontal rabbit-eared" openers. The vertical design keeps the same center of gravity on the opener and the wine bottle, unlike the horizontal designed openers. Consequently, the Ozetti opener makes it easy to pull out the cork from the bottle and then remove it from the opener itself. The Ozetti product comes with an extra corkscrew, as well as a foil opener. We are very pleased with this product.

Broke X 2.
The first unit broke within 2 weeks. Returned the unit and received a replacement. This one lasted 4 months and broke again. It appears to have the same fail mechanism, the linkage within the lever. Too bad, it was great while it lasted. Now I'm out of the return window. For a product with a 100% satisfaction guarantee, I'm not very satisfied.Update: Although the unit has broke twice, I have received great customer service. I contacted the seller as requested in the comment to my review and they sent me another unit. So far, so good.

Works as advertised, but smells like an oil well.
It works like a charm. The cork puller and the foil cutter. I open wine quite often. The only problem is it smells heavily of petroleum byproducts. I had to leave it outside for a few days to off-gas but it still stinks.

Wine Bottle Opener
The foil cutter works great, but removing the foil has never been my major concern when opening a bottle of wine. The opener works well. Some muscle is needed to push the lever down to extract the cork. The cork does nor easily come off the screw.

Save your money
It's cheaply made. A disappointment. I actually had to wash it because the device was covered in a stale smelling oil. Don't buy it.

Works great.
Works very well. More stable than a side-pointing rabbit-type wine opener.
