Good value and squishy, stress reliever

So as a fun stocking stuffer gift for my partner, I thought I'd get this stress toy, and opted for what I thought was an expensive version - at £9.99 - so it was a quality purchase and not just something discarded after Christmas. Christmas Day, the hedgehog is unveiled, and squeezed a few times. The painted part began peeling off immediately. By Boxing Day, the poor thing looked like it had vitiligo or melasma, or some other sort of terrible skin condition, with most of the paint peeled off. By the 29th, my poor unsuspecting partner picked up the forlorn hedgehog, squeezed it and POP, it spaffed white gloop all over the carpet, walls and everywhere. It burst, leaving a sizeable area of the lounge looking like the clean-up after a certain kind of movie. The phrase 'painter's radio' springs to mind. We're still cleaning up, but I'm proud that it wasn't me that's responsible for staining the carpet, for once. Anyway, I've returned it today, and please, if you want to squeeze something squidgy, don't opt for this terrible product. There are far more fun things to squeeze, after all. You'd be better off with marshmallows in a freezer bag. DEFINITELY not suitable for kids or pets.

Got this for a colleague who loves hedgehogs and she loves it…..it looks good and quality is good . It’s a nice size and colour .

Makes a cute little gift, I gave my daughter one for her birthday and she was happy with it. Cute design, seems sturdy and good for kids to play with for stress relief/sensory stimulation!

Brought this as was going through something stressful and all the pink belly/eyes etc is just peeling off. Otherwise it's good to squeeze

This was a gift for my adult son, who found it therapeutic. Unfortunately after a few days of use the paint peeled off and last night it exploded, shocking him and covering his wall, computer screen, keyboard and computer case vents, as well as his clothes with a liquid. He had to clean it up quickly to try and stop it from ruining his keyboard and graphics card, then it started solidifying into a white foamy substance. I have no idea if the substance is toxic! I'm glad it didn't go into his eyes and I'm unsure of the damage it may have done to his computer. The worrying thing is I bought my daughter andy three year old granddaughter one of these on the same range ( cat) and I'm advising her not to use it, goodness knows what damage it could do, especially to a small child if it bursts!! As these are used for stress and helping with autism etc... the shock of it exploding is even worse. These products need to be recalled. Please be careful if you have one !

I bought a couple of different characters for my kids. They looked brilliant and their names were funny. However after an hour of playing randomly with them, they started peeling! The hedgehogs face completely peeled off. My son was quite upset and I felt very disappointed with the quality.

Minor damage but nothing that's a big deal, super cute still. Seems durable and like good quality. Will be good for strengthening my hands.

Super süßer Igel... eigentlich ein tolles Produkt, fühlt sich total gut an beim Knautschen... allerdings löst sich die Farbe total schnell ab, dann sieht er total häßlich aus.

Der Hog war lange Zeit ein treuer Begleiter. Dennoch sollte man ihn auch wie empfohlen nutzen. Moderate Quetschungen hält er locker aus. Doch nach ein paar Monaten ist er leider geplatzt nach exzessivem Gruppengequetschs. Der Inhalt lässt sich allerdings relativ einfach wegwischen, es handelt sich um eine weiche Masse welche in Verbindung mit Sauerstoff wohl fester wird (vergleichbar mit evtl. Rasierschaum?) Der Hog hat auch nach ein paar Tagen schon seine Farbe an ein paar Stellen verloren. Bei leichter Nutzung wird er ein langlebigerer Begleiter sein!
