Royal Industries Pie Marker, Cast Aluminum, 9 Cut, Silver, Commercial Grade

Bought this on a whim, so glad that I did. I never could get my cake or pie slices to come out even.Now everything is perfect.No More arguments about who's piece is bigger.

Returned. Purchased two different cutters kept one, sent this back but I think it would do a great job on fruit pies.

I was stunned to see that something that should be accurate and uniform, was anything but. I used this for the first time today at a friend's house when she asked me to cut her bundt cake. The first thing she said when looking at the marker was "those slices are not identical". I brushed it off, thinking she was mistaken. I centered the marker perfectly at the center of the "tube" within the Bundt cake. Yes it was easy to slice this cake after the marker was placed and removed. But gosh almighty, the slices were absolutely not identical.

For me, 5 is the magic number of slices, for an average 6-8 inch sized pie.It's not too much, but not too little of a serving either.But for whatever reason, trying to cut a pie in 5ths is a struggle.I was happy to find this pie marker.It isn't a cutter.. I think some people were confused in their reviews.This just marks where to cut the pie.Works fantastic. Takes the guesswork out.Makes for 5 neat, clean, even pieces every time. Easy to use and clean. Well made.

All pieces are not cut equal

Works great until you drop it from more than a foot or so height. Then one of the arms breaks off. Even storing it with other items that slide around can break off one of the arms. Casting this as one or two pieces of flexible plastic would be better. After all, it is only a guide, not a cutter, so it doesn't need to be rigid.

This is perfect for my use. When I section bread dough for hamburger roll, 6 section are too large and 8 are too small. Seven is just right. I just mark the dough with the "sectioner" and finish cutting with a bread scraper...

I can't seem to space my scones evenly. Having this as a guide has been very helpful. Making 7 scones is perfect, too. 6 are too large, 8 are too small. I never could get them quite right and this marks them enough I can cut them properly.
