Met my expectations - there is a right way and a wrong way to use it
Great customer support. I had my gravgrip setup wrong. Customer support was quick to respond and guided me in the right direction. It’s a cool product. Video attached shows 2 different rotation speeds. 1 slow rotation, 1 Faster rotation Pros: -Pretty much every clip I film has some crazy new angle to it. Its fun to watch -Great for low to high or high to low transitions -Easy to adjust gimbal speed once you figure out how gravity affects it -Super small Cons: -this is not meant to further stabilize footage. It works in combination with a camera that has image stabilization like GoPro Hypersmooth. I know it’s not meant to be, but it could be confusing Overall I love it, but I won’t always film with GravGrip attached, it doesn’t make sense for all shots, but it does for a lot of them!

Works as stated and designed.
Best extension GoPro holder I have used. Auto leveling is very good when you set the camera up properly. Lightweight and well made and the locking mechanism is straightforward and effective. I use with a GoPro remote attached to handle and it is perfect for my style of shooting.

Almost Perfect
The good: Solves a major annoyance when using cameras on a “selfie” stick. Requires NO batteries. Very smooth operation* Easy to use Adjustable angle and rotation rate** Well designed One star removed because: Not as waterproof as advertised - literally one splash of salt water and the gimbal was never the same. *Had hang-up points following the water intrusion event. **Adjusting rate requires purchase of a small, user-replaceable regulator component. In fairness, I have not yet tried to resolve the gimbal damage with GravGrip, I expect they will take care of things however. I just haven’t had the time to start that communication. I bought this to use on an epic trip, and it lasted the entire time, although was more finicky after the splash. (I gave it a fresh water rinse and had to give it about a day to dry out). But, it did its job throughout the trip, and was a good value even if that is the only use I get from it. If it comes down to it, I’ll buy another and just make sure it never gets splashed.

Really neat device, wish it worked for portrait mode too
This is a really clever little device that has made it super easy to add more dimension to some action shots. I just wish there was some way to adjust the counterweight so that you can use your gopro in portrait mode too. If I add an adapter to turn the camera, the balancing goes out of whack. That aside, I love what I can do with this little gizmo.

Not for motorsports use (car, truck, motorcycle, RC, etc.)
This is a simple assembly that sorta works. It just didn't provide enough of a dampening or leveling function for my needs. The Gravgrip leveler is considered hydraulic in that it uses viscous oil to dampen a shaft that a pinion gear is attached to. You can see what I mean from these pics. The viscous assembly is small. The diameter of the center part is about 9.5mm (3/8"). My take on it is that for selfies, walking, hiking or casual bike riding this device should work fine. I tried it in an automotive application and I could not adjust it to have enough damping action. Upon acceleration the camera pointed itself downwards. Under hard braking there was nothing but sky. I was laughing when I saw the footage, but it just didn't work for my application. I was hoping I could clean the damping shaft assembly out and stuff it with an even more viscous fluid, but I ended up damaging it upon disassembly and I can't get it to seal properly anymore. LOl... oh well, that's all on me. I should be able to coat the gears with 1M cSt silicon fluid, though. If I do, I'll report back with my results.

Disappointing Hydraulic Camera Grip - Stability Issues and Design Flaws
I recently purchased this hydraulic camera grip, expecting it to enhance my filming experience, but it has been nothing short of a disappointment. From the very first use, I encountered several critical issues that render this product almost useless for serious videography. First, as you can see from the photos, if you have the media mod attached to the camera, the side of the mod touches the side of the grip. This contact disrupts the entire stabilization mechanism, making it necessary to manually rotate the camera out of contact, which defeats the purpose of having a stabilization device in the first place. The very function of a gimbal is to provide smooth, stable footage without manual intervention, and this grip fails miserably in that regard. Moreover, when you attempt to rotate the grip 360° for dynamic shots, you will notice an unacceptable design flaw. The monopod, along with all the connected screws, becomes visible in the shot. This visibility is a glaring oversight and severely limits the angles and creativity you can achieve with this grip. Instead of capturing seamless footage, you're constantly reminded of the grip's presence, which is both distracting and unprofessional.Additionally, the grip's poor design has the potential to cause damage to your equipment. The constant contact between the grip and the media mod could result in scratches on the mod's casing over time. This is concerning, as it not only affects the aesthetic appeal of your gear but could potentially reduce its resale value.Lastly, the stability of this grip deteriorates rapidly with use. After moving the camera multiple times, the balance is thrown off after just five rotations. This instability is frustrating, especially during longer shoots where you need consistent performance. The entire contraption becomes useless, requiring frequent adjustments and recalibrations that interrupt the flow of filming. Overall, this hydraulic camera grip fails to deliver on its promises of stability and seamless operation. The design flaws, performance issues, and potential for damage to your equipment make it a poor choice for anyone looking for a reliable gimbal for their camera. I would not recommend this product to anyone serious about their videography. Save your money and invest in a more dependable option.
