Stainless steel has no bite force, so it doesn't use. Normal use will not rust. Don't worry. **Q: Can i use these on a 220v 10 arms external pond pump so i can easily disconnect in winter?** A: I will answer from my engineering experience, not as an authority on the actual product. The produce info says 250v and 1amp and wire range from 22 to 2/0. - 250 volts appears to be a reasonable value based on physical dimensions - 1 amp current rating looks good also. A 1 amp rated 220V AC pump will start at about 6 to 10amps. That means if it should clog the impeller and stall, it will run at 6 to 10 amps until whatever thermal protection you have will trip it, hopefully in 30sec to about 3 minutes. I would expect that much heat to reduce the temper in the spring and therefore the pressure of the connection but only a test would reveal that as fact. -22 to 2/0 wire size. This may be a translation error. Google 2/0 wire and you find it is over 3/8" diameter. I did fit a stranded #12 wire in (typically fused at 20A) and felt it was secure but no wire connection device I know of can handle the rated current of the largest wire that fits in it. That is so you can use the lug for branching with 1 wire in and 2 going out and other reasons. - The product details say not to use it on DC. I don't know the reasoning behind that. There is no inherent reason a terminal can't be used on AC or DC under normal conditions. But if there is a short circuit or an arcing type failure, DC will be harder to interupt and more likely to cause a fire. I used the connector for 12VDC and 0.010A load. Since the connector is outside and I expect several years of service, I used contact paste to reduce the chance of contamination and oxidation of the contact. CONCULSION: This is a great spring connector style terminal block. I would use it for temporary use at 220VAC and 2 or 3 amps but expect to monitor it and replace if necessary. I would readily use it for up to 120vac or 24vdc and 1amp resistive loads or 50ma inductive or capacitive loads which pull much more than rated load when starting. Remember it is intended for LED strip lighting.
