Excellent Motherboard and excellent for overclocking.
Motherboard arrived quickly and well packaged. The board was really nice and clean looking, I really love the look of the heat sinks on the VRM's and around the PCIE area. The board had a good selection of rear IO ports and also a good selection of connectors on the motherboard ranging from RGB connections, lots of fan headers and a selection of connectors for water coolers to monitor them correctly. The motherboard came with all the necessary pieces and some nice extras which included a wrist strap (ROG) a fan and mount to provide extra cooling which was all nice. Instructions were easy to read and my computer booted straight away. Would highly recommend this board if you plan on using a higher end CPU to overclock as there is a good amount of cooling and support for cooling.

Great price
Really happy with this board so far. only had it running a few days though.Building was fast and easy. only a slight issue with the size of the rear io fitting in my phantek p400 case. i had to leave some motherboard screws out. Also the board is thin so i had to shim the cpu cooler mount on my corsair H100 v2. I did this with some washers.Im running an i5 9600k in mine and with the cooler its sitting at 30 degrees (fans on silent). on boost its about 50 so plenty of room for overclocking. I'll report back once ive done that. The CPU mount is tight so it was a little scary pulling that lever down. Its been a while since i last did one. But it located perfectly.the AI suite software has advanced a lot since my old p8p67 pro. Also the Bios is really easy to use. I had windows up and running in less that 15 minutes using UEFI boot.Fan control is awesome. also the RBG lighting looks pretty pimp. The motherboard doesn't come in a static bag. I thought this was strange but apparently its normal for ROG boards. That said the board worked great so obviously isn't an issuei've included some pictures. I haven't tidied the fan wires yet because they are too short so don't judge me lolUPDATE: The CPU temp is stuck on 11 degrees. This is in both bios and AI suite. This makes tuning the fans difficult. I seem to remember Asus temps are always a bit wild but this is clearly a fault. I'm going to run a 2pin thermal sensor instead and hope its just a software issue.now running 4.8ghz with 1.35 volts. realtemp is showing 70 degrees max temp.

Expensive but WOW
I brought this to replace a faulty Gigabyte Z490 board. Fired up first time without having to flash the BIOS and has been working like a dream now for over a week. The board is way too expensive but the build quality does match the price. I had a few issues when fitting it to my case - mainly the orientation of the USB3 port on the board has changed and caused me some grief during installation but other than that it was fine.If you are considering saving a few quid by going with the cheaper Gigabyte Aorus Z490 Master board (like I did initially) then don't. Poor build quality and faulty/bent pins meant that I was returning it within 48 hours of receipt and going back with my tail between my legs to purchase this board. The only reason this board doesn't get 5 stars from me is the price - should be £100 cheaper.

Great Solid Motherboard!
I bought this motherboard to make use of my new 12900k motherboard and DDR5 RAM... really simply to install if you know what you're doing. So many USB ports and plenty of SSD slots and a really simple reset CMOS button. However I did purchase 4 x Kingston FURY Beast DDR5 16GB and they would not overclock via XMP, this is due to the amount (4) along with a bug with 12th Gen Intel & the Motherboard bios... so if you're after overclocking your RAM I would wait until this is resolved. Other than that this is a great motherboard and I would definitely recommend if you're looking to build a futureproof PC or upgrade your existing one!

Z690 Chipset Overheating
I'm using this motherboard over month and now I'm expirence hight temp of Chipest during my resarch I found video on YouTube called "Z690 Chipset Motherboards Getting Burned From The Inside Out? Let's Take A Look"Which seems about right. I got idle temp of 69c and during long gaming the cipset overheats and shutdown the PC.. Seems I will need RMA this board.

Nice board!
Received the motherboard next day as quoted. Very good motherboard for LGA 1200 socket and looks very good at keeping all the components cool with the beefy heatsink around the vrm.Feature filled board at a low price point!

Absolutely Fantastic 5.3Ghz 10 cores all day long
Z490 Maximus XII HEROCouldn't be happier with this beast, best build quality and stability I've ever experienced in motherboards and I built my first PC in 1994!This thing is driving a i9 10900k at 5.3GHz accross 10 cores, who cares if the cpu is sucking upto 250watt as you don't buy high performance parts if your worried about TDP.5.3Ghz all day long, completely stable, passes prime and cinebench 60 minute stability test and NO thermal throttling, the CPU is colled by an ASUS STRIX LC 360 AIO.My ROG STRIX Z490-E couldn't keep my CPU stable at 5.3ghz all cores but the Maximus does it with ease, those VRMS are worth the extra.
