Would a 3-gallon fish tank be okay on it?** A: My guess is that it definitely would be okay. The metal structure is solid and the top is quite thick. I've had these for a year and a half now, they're very sturdy! **Q: Could these be used has a foot rest ?** A: Not really. First, I'll say I absolutely love these but I use them for storage. One in my living room for a blanket and pillow and one my son uses in his room as a side table and with a blanket. They are at an awkward size so I'm not sure they could be used as foot rests. The larger one is tall enough that it's a solid NO, but the small one I guess could be improvised. Secondly, while I love the construction for the purpose of these, I wouldn't trust anything sitting or resting on them other than small items. I have a candle and plant on mine.
