Q: Can you use it on the gears as well ?

You can most definitely use it on the gears. I have tried several different brands and Cal's is hands down the best. I use the purple on my gears and the tan on my drag washers. I've tried many other brands and nothing else works as well

I use it on all of my reels. I normally use the tan on drag and the purple on gears
