Wish I would of had this a long time ago. It works great!! So happy with it. It fits the commode perfect. No sliding around, nice and sturdy and so much easier on my hip and knee getting off on it. It's definitely a get it! When I go visit my son they put midget commode in these apartments. Your a couple inches fron the floor.

Wonderful solution to persistent difficulty getting up
I'm approx 5'3" and this 4" riser is a little high, but fine. 2" or 3" would have probably been enough for me. I quickly tested and it was effortless getting up. It'll be great not having to grab the corner of my cabinet just trying to push myself up. I hated having to even think about it every time I used the toilet. Guys got it easy, women have to sit to pee. lol. I keep a little foam pad on the corner because without even noticing the corner dug into my hand once and hurt me pretty bad. This unit feels stable enough, strong and a breeze to clean. I'm about 150 -160 lbs give or take and I'm sure this could handle a heck of a lot more weight. It's great that this is portable too. No tools or anything needed. A friend of mine is just adamant about having the top seat cover closed, so I'll probably make a little cardboard covered in contact paper to look closed. Or just simply remove it and put it in the tub and close the lid. It's so easy to put on and take off. Just place it on or lift it off. The dimensions were perfect for my round toilet (which looks a little oblong but it's not (just a standard round toilet). This is a a wonderful product and I wouldn't say this is just for seniors. I bet a lot of people would benefit from this who have difficulty getting up from such a low toilet like mine. Although I never had difficulties getting up til about 3 or 4 years ago. So with age, it is harder getting up from that low. Also was great to get it on sale. I probably wouldn't have bought it otherwise and been needlessly struggling to get up forever. Hope this review helps others.

Elegantly Simple Design Provides Solid, Comfortable Seating, Easy Cleaning & Quick On and Off if Needed
Knowing nothing at all about toilet seat risers, we spent a considerable amount of time shopping for the right seat. Initially, we were thinking that one that had attached arms out to the side would be handy. But in reading feedback, it seems as if those sometimes tipped and caused the person sitting to lose their balance and even fall. We noticed several seats that had fasteners to keep them attached to the toilet itself, but I noticed many reviewers who said they liked this one because the design was simple and it stayed in place. We have found that to be true as well. We do check now and then to make sure that it isn't moving off center, but it has worked very well thus far.We also purchased the Medline Toilet Safety Rails. listed as the #1 best seller in that category. I can see why. The design is simple yet strong. It's easy to attach the rails to the toilet, and just as easy to remove the rails without removing the "bracket" that attaches to the toilet at the back of the seat. That way, you can easily add or remove them depending on who needs or doesn't need the additional support. You can also lift them up slightly in order to sweep and mop underneath the legs. The rails are adjustable to two different widths on each rail, so if you happened to have a tight space, these could still work well. All in all, we are very happy with both purchases, and our elderly patient feels confident and secure in the bathroom thanks to the Aquasense Raised Toilet Seat and Medline Toilet Safety Rails. They work well together.UPDATE 16 MONTHS LATER: These toilet seat riser continues to be in perfect shape after more than a year of active use. Its simple design is deceiving, as it does everything you need it to do without clunky, hard-to-clean clamps or other unnecessary accessories. It fits on the toilet perfectly, staying in place with two small patches of slightly spongy material that is still securely fastened on after regular cleanings. The plastic itself is smooth and comfortable and lightweight to move for cleaning or to temporarily remove if someone else doesn't want to use the toilet with it in place. Our senior says she would not feel safe or comfortable without this well-designed riser. It's been key to her remaining independent and aging in her beloved home. We purchased one for our house so she has the same safety and convenience when she visits us. I HEARTILY RECOMMEND THIS ELEGANTLY DESIGNED, VALUE-PRICED ITEM.And, as noted in the initial review, it works beautifully with the "frame" that is noted above, which is also still in perfect shape and yet another bit of money well, well spent!THREE-YEAR UPDATE: We have found this streamlined, elegantly designed toilet riser to be so helpful to our senior that we have purchased additional ones for family members she visits. It is strong, very easy to clean, unbelievable simple to install and remove, and so reliable as it remains in place without slipping. A powerful addition to the home of any senior or anyone with mobility and agility issues. Equally helpful for the family members who host older people or others who need a bit of assistance. Deceptively simple, elegant design.

Doesn’t fit securely on our elongated toilet; great Amazon customer service
Nice product and well packaged. However, it will not fit securely over or in our standard elongated toilet. It can be forced to fit, but it wobbles, and would not be safe to try to stand up from without being extremely careful to put equal weight on both sides. Some other reviews also indicated it did not fit elongated toilets, but some reviews said it fit just fine with no problems. Perhaps standard sizes aren't so standard after all. We tried to do a return, but Amazon said it could not be returned or exchange due to being a personal item. They refunded the cost and told us to keep the seat. Can't beat that.
