Why am I here? Well... after an exhaustive search of reviews for the best NON-BULKY case for my precious 13 Pro, Macworld provided me with the guidance I was looking for - a review of thin cases! I'm coming from an iPhone X that I had multiple cases on, the last one being so thin (condom-like), that when the inevitable drop happened... I chipped the front corner of my screen. I don't drop my phone much and I loved that case for the 'almost nothing' feel, but it offered no drop protection. So, after Macworld reviewed all the normal cases and then the armored (!) cases, there was a brief comparison of 3 thin cases. The Totallee sounded too thin, like my X case, but the Moshi iGlaze XT was the only thin case reviewed that claimed Mil spec drop protection. While the Mil spec standard for phone cases is kind of loose, at least Moshi was trying to offer more protection by testing it. The XT case is far thinner than the Casetify Impact I first tried on the 13 Pro. While that case was nice (and artsy haha), it made my phone feel like a tank, like a completely different device. If you drop your phone a lot, this is the type of case you need. The iGlaze XT seems like a great compromise of thin overall but with some protection. The camera module is protected with a bare minimum lip of .5mm (about the thickness of a business card) and a front screen lip of .8mm (the thickness of a credit card). You'll have to decide if that is enough protection for your uses, I would not use a case with anything less than those lip measurements, they are tiny! But the benefit? One of my phone case pet peeves... trying to swipe up on a screen when the case lip is in the way. The XT's screen lip is so minimal, it's much less of a problem swiping up, especially one handed. The XT's cutouts for speaker/mic/buttons are very accurate and precise, no problems there. The button covers are an insert (Moshi calls this 'embedded') into the case to provide a better click feel, and it works. Molded-in button covers tend to be stiff or mushy, the XT's click just right. Because of this button design, the 2 volume buttons have been covered with 1 insert, creating a 'rocker' type switch. Press one end of the rocker and it volumes up, press the other end and it volumes down. I would prefer 2 discrete buttons for the volume as it’s easier to adjust without looking. The 13 Pro’s front speaker/mic is very close to the edge of the phone and some cases partially cover this area. The XT’s tiny front lip clears the speaker/mic easily as shown in the photo. Wireless charging works with the XT case on, but MagSafe chargers won't hold the weight of the 13 vertically if that's a feature you want. The XT is a crystal clear case for showing the color of your phone and it looks especially nice with the 13's Sierra Blue. The case has a PC hard shell back with TPU sides and the corners seem pretty well cushioned. MicroGrid dots on the inside of the case help prevent water marking and Moshi claims to have some technology to fight the yellowing of the clear case. I'm not a brand logo person at all, but Moshi has kept its branding discreet with a small silver font on the rear of the case. Price wise? $30 is a lot for a clear case, there are a lot of $10-15 clear cases out there. Moshi does offer warranty coverage for 2-10yrs, so that is something to provide additional value. Will they cover yellowing of the clear case? I guess we’ll see. For now, this seems like one of the best thin, protective cases... let me know what you find!

If you’re wanting to show the color of your phone and not cover it up with a colored case, and have it be good quality, this is the case to get. It’s been holding up well and Moshi has always been a reliable brand at an affordable price.
