Her students can be pretty rough on dishes. But so far these have held up quite well. They are made from a plant-based material with very natural looking designs. Her students enjoy using them.The plates are pretty low profile, which she like because she can stack more, but they could be concerning if you have anything with a loose sauce on your plate. No issues in the microwave or dishwasher after 4 weeks of daily use.Overall, my daughter and her students are quite pleased with these dishes. Interesting designs, lots of shapes and sizes, with a nice white color. Extremely durable and made from sustainable plant-based material. Packaging was very sturdy and nothing was damaged. Love the pretty white color and the organic lines. Also love that, unlike melamine, they are microwave safe in addition to dishwasher safe. They are super lightweight as well. However: they are not unbreakable, as one of my cups did arrive chipped. I was quickly issued a replacement set, but when it arrived, it had two broken cups!
