it's not going to withstand a heavy chewier or a big dog. I have a pug and he broke the squeaker right away, which is typical for him. I do watch him with this toy because he likes to pull. We have two elephants and I have had to mend both of them a couple of times. Seams will open and I have had to replace a leg or two. But the body of the toy has not torn. My dog loves it and if you're willing to keep a watchful eye it's a good toy.

Depends on your baby, my 2 year old pug absolutely LOVES his Elfies, but he’s definitely a chewer. He rips holes in it with a day or two. I sew them up a few times before finally throwing them away. I order a new one every month because it’s his absolute favorite toy. He even sleeps with it in his crate, but it’s not very durable for teething puppies or dogs that like to chew a lot, and definitely not a toy that you want to leave them alone with if they enjoy chewing either, mine would swallow all the stuffing if I let him.
