It works in a natural way
I use this once or twice a week and it works to keep my whole noggin from showing as grey. It's got a natural feel to the look allowing for the undergrowth to retain some grey, so it's not like you are dyeing your hair as such. The fingernails will get slightly darkened if you use regularly, but that has to be expected. I wash my fingers right away after applying it. I really could ask for anymore from this product. Would recommend.

Actually works, but...
Okay look, there are a few things you need to know before using this product: 1. First and foremost, I rarely give 5 stars for anything but I am extremely satisfied with this product. For me, it’s the right color and works perfectly with my bathing routine. 2. (I never do..because I’m a dummy) TEST the product on a small area of skin FIRST. No harm in returning it if it doesn’t work for you. 3. This product DOES work. It’s not magic. You will notice a difference even after the first use. Depending upon how many times you use the shampoo is the secret. I could imagine one using this only once a month for a very subtle change in color. I could imagine one using it every other day for dramatic results. 4. You MUST WEAR GLOVES. You can pick these up at any beauty store/walmart/Walgreens/amazon. Never EVER try without as it will stain your fingernails and fingers. Also, guys who work out and have callouses, it will penetrate those and stain as well. Avoid all this by taking the time to put on a parIr of 2 cent gloves. 5. Just like with any hair dye, the longer you leave it In, the more dramatic effect. Personally, I only use when needed and I *never let it sit on my head for longer than 60 seconds. Trust me on this one guys. That is, unless you want to go really dark (and noticeable). I think the point of this product is to gradually lose the grey as opposed to just showing up to work the next day with all the grey magically gone. 6. A little goes a long way. You don’t need anymore than a dime size blob to work. Why waste it? Save yourself some money. 7. For all the people who are claiming it’s making the, bald, personally in call BS, BUT every person is different. Perhaps it’s true it causes hair loss, which is why I suggest you test it before using it. But again, for me, no problems at all with hair loss. 8. Another great thing about the shampoo is it’s no fuss. Just shampoo as normally and presto changeo. I wouldn’t suggest using with another shampoo except to condition it after use. The next day when you’re not using it, shampoo and condition normally of course. 9. Lastly, the fact that the color is *subtle*, I believe is the products strength. Subtlety is key for a lot of guys who don’t want to “look like they dye their hair” (though obviously nothing is wrong with it, even makeup on guys too!) I’m 100% satisfied with this product and will be using it for a while—well, so long as I have hair.

It totally works
This product actually works and it's pretty awesome. I have been going grey since my mid 20's so I have used Just for Men beard and mustache and the hair dye for a very long time. Both work but they really make it too dark to look natural. They basically dye the skin and that makes your beard and hair look ridiculous for a couple of days until the skin under the beard shows up lighter. I am 42 years old, not 22 so it's hard to believe that I have super dark hair or a super dark beard that doesn't match my eyebrows which are light brown. I am also thin on top so I do shave my hair periodically which leaves the top and sides very short. This product is perfect because it dyes the roots so when I do shave it close, it is still brown not grey. It does work on beards and mustaches and it is way easier than trying to brush in the gel. This product slowly changes the color so it's not too obvious and it doesn't dye the skin as long as you don't keep it on too long. I usually keep it on 2-3 minutes rather than the one minute as my hair and beard is somewhat resistant to hair dyes. Tile and shower won't stain so long as you wash off it off after rinsing and don't scrub your head like normal shampoo. Lightly massage in and then wait a couple of minutes. It did stain the cracks of my fingers which only looks now like I work on cars. It did lightly stain my fingernails but who cares, nobody is looking at my fingers anyway. Totally worth it. Took around 9 days to get the effect I wanted. A little grey is cool. Dyed skin not cool. Now I don't look like I am in my 50's.

Works almost TOO well
First of all, the people with red or blonde hair who complain...the box specifically mentions this if for brown to black hair, so take those reviews with a grain of salt. Now onto why I feel this works almost too well (and it is my fault why). The package says to use daily for 1 minute each day, and to stop when your hair reaches a shade that is right for you (I'm a medium to medium dark brown). Well, I used this daily for about 6 or so days, 1 minute each day in the shower. After the first day, I didn't notice anything (but also didn't expect to), so I continued using it each day. During this time, I completely forgot to scrutinize my hair for any changes. Well, by the 6th day, as I was towel drying my hair, I noticed that it seemed thicker than usual, AND darker! This stuff pretty much took out all the grays on the top and back of my head, probably much earlier than I had noticed, and turned it to a VERY dark brown - not quite black, but almost. The reason I hadn't noticed, is because I was paying attention to my gray temples, which didn't seem affected...but DAMN did it do a helluva job on the rest. Now, I see in other reviews, some people complaining about it not working on the back and sides of their heads. Again, the box clearly states that this shampoo is NOT intended to REMOVE all gray hair. It is meant to GRADUALLY color your hair so people don't notice that your hair changed overnight. In this, it succeeds 100%. Also, I didn't really want to remove all the gray from my temples, and it looks MUCH more natural this way. Had I checked more during the first 5 days, I probably would have matched my natural hair color perfectly...again, MY fault, not the shampoo's. So, if you have brown to black hair, and don't want to eliminate gray, but reduce it (as the package clearly states), this stuff is phenomenal, and I highly recommend it. How can they make it better? Well, I tried this on my beard as well, but to zero effect. That being said, it doesn't claim to work on beards...I just wish it did. I hope they make a similar product that works on beards. Excellent product...5 well earned stars.

This product is amazing! It took a bit longer than I thought ...
First, I'm female. I'm writing this through my husband's account. I recently went through a serious bout with cancer. That said, you know I lost my hair. When my hair grew back it was more grey than dark brown. When I finally got my nerve up to play with color, I tried using the traditional dye only to be frustrated with how quickly the grey was showing - never mind how weird I looked with a stark shock of dark brown on my head. Finally, I looked for something where I could control the color, not go broke, and not be using the harsh chemicals associated with dye. This product is amazing! It took a bit longer than I thought it would, but I stuck with it . . . and was happy I did. Below is a list of things I found with this product: 1. If it doesn't work in a week, give it two . . . even three. The key is that you are heading in the right direction as far as erasing the grey. 2. Like the person who mentioned he combed it through dry hair - I did the same thing and it was fine. But, also like him, I would say don't take my word for it and proceed with caution. I usually just use it as a normal shampoo. 3. It will stain anything and everything from walls to fingernails so take precautions here too. I personally bought some light weight gloves and use them to apply the shampoo. I also rinse and rinse my hair (paying special attention to the insides of my ears) so I don't mess up anything - learned the hard way. Also, I rinse off walls, etc. 4. Do I still have a little grey around my temples, etc.? Yes, but the overall difference is amazing and that tiny bit of grey makes my hair look more real. Keep in mind when you use regular dye and you have short hair, the shock of one dark color on your hair looks (at least on me) a little odd. 5. Some don't like the smell. It is a little strong with perfume. But, I like the smell, and I turn my nose up at almost anything that seems too different. Overall, great product . . . even for women with short, DARK hair. Not for blonds or redheads . . .

Excellent Results, But Note My Observations
I have been using Control GX since July 2019 and can report that it does the job for me and does it well. After about three weeks of daily use I noticed my grey hair slowly disappearing and replaced by my natural color. The sides were only slightly less grey, but that's ok, it added to the more natural appearance. At that point I decided that that was the look I wanted and now use the product twice per week, a maintenance schedule. Ever so often I add an extra shampooing, just to tweak the look. It's easy and manageable. A couple of important observations and hints: (1) Use plastic or latex gloves in order to avoid the problem of inky finger nails. Do it, it's silly not to. (2) Make certain that your shower stall/bathtub is completely rinsed down after using the product. Occasionally I have noticed some grey residue/streaks on my tile walls the day after use due to a sloppy cleanup, but have not had a problem eliminating the stains with a spray cleanser. (3) Hair Fallout? Not here. While I have noticed that my hair is somewhat more fly-away and softer after using Control GX, it definitely has not caused my hair to fall out or thin. I suspect that the conditioning agent in the shampoo causes a soft and silky feel and thus it appears and/or feels a bit thinner. A hair blowing will help as will a dab of thickening hair product. The next day after resuming the use of my regular shampoo the silky/thin feeling disappeared. (4) I did not notice any dye scent, but you should know that it does have a floral scent which I find a bit cloying. Fortunately the scent does not linger in your hair after rinsing. Bottom line: a GREAT product but not a miracle potion. It won't restore you to the look and vigor of a 20-something year old unless you ARE a 20-something year old, but for me it is definitely effective, safe and easy. Highly recommended.

It worked on hair and beard...
My hair had turned nearly white on top of my head and on the front of my beard. I thought about regular hair and beard dyes, but was afraid of an unnatural darkening of my hair. I used Control GX for 5 days on my hair, and it turned it from white to a nice younger looking charcoal color. I now can use it once a week to maintain color, or darken slightly. I know it has not been studied on beard hair, but I used it very carefully on my beard and mustache, making sure I didn't get any on my skin or mouth. I kept my mouth closed tight while it was in place. It took longer, but after about 8 applications, my beard and mustache have noticeably darkened, with still some gray that I wanted to keep. So really, as far as effectiveness I would give this 5 stars. The only reason I mark it down one star is that it seems to have thinned my hair. My hair is much softer now, but is growing slower and does appear a little thinner. I had very thick hair so not really noticeable to anyone else. In all fairness, I did start a medication at the same time that rarely causes hair thinning, so it might not be the Control GX. But if anyone else noticed this, please post a review! As far as complaints I seen from others, I really didn't have a problem. If you wet your hands and nails well before applying product, and use your palms and proximal fingers to rub in the shampoo, I think you will avoid nail discoloration. Just rinse your hands off as soon as you are done lathering up shampoo (FYI, this shampoo doesn't lather up much). I had no problems with the shower getting stained, but I did rinse it out after each use and was careful not to fling the product around the shower when shampooing. I had no problems with staining of towels. The smell of the product isn't great, but certainly not bad, and I didn't notice it at all once I had rinsed it out of my hair and beard. As with any new product, long term use safety and side effects is to be determined. If I notice any further hair thinning or other side effects I will update this in the future.
