Great Video Converter
Great converter. Easy one step record, just play and record. Im not a video resolution expert but the conversion from VHS looks and sounds great to me. So much better than sending tapes out to a third party company. You'll need a VHS, camcorder etc to play the tapes on as this device just converts them to a USB or other drive.

Easy HDMI or AV to MP4 recorder
Great little HDMI or AV video-in recorder I needed to digitize video from an old sony camera - plugged the micro HDMI into the recorder and bam 1080p video. super easy. Love that I can run this off batteries. great feature OK not all is entirely well Compression maxes out at 15mbps kinda - what is wrong with say 40mbps ? Wait? what? no 1/4 20 tripod mount - once you include the battery click mount - loose the IR port and the remote and instead put a tripod mount on there. Aside from that - works great, easy to operate, press house for menu, then toggle your way through settings. and you get a fairly ok albeit smallish HDMI file very quickly. that was exactly what I wanted.

Great customer service!
We purchased the first unit and the remote would not work so they sent another unit, same problem. We figured out the batteries were not getting a good connection and did some modifications to make the remotes work (see pictures). Also they confirmed that the units are 2 channel but only record what the screen sees (PIP, POP, etc.) not 2 separate channels recording independently. So after finding that out we decided to purchase another unit to obtain 2 separate recordings. They first unit we got a Black Friday Deal and they gave us a code to get the second unit for the same price! Oh and they units do not have a switch for on/off they fire up with power so as you can see in the pictures of our units mounted we have the power unplugged when not using them because any time we turn the boat batteries on we then would have to go turn the units off manually and it's just easier to plug them in when we want them. You can see how well they record our Garmin Chartplotters on our youtube channel LostAndFoundSar on the dates starting 12/14/24 and later when we get those posted (might be a bit we are a few weeks behind in posting).

Great Product, Poor Documentation and Tech Support.
Great device, very good recording quality, easy to use but I give 1 star for documentation and tech support, specs say it comes with UXplayer software, it does not, tech support says it parts of Windows which it's not, downloaded UXplayer Pro which requires a license key none is supplied, also cannot get Computer to recognize the USB to PC connection. Asked tech support what type of device should I see in device manager no response.

Nice large screen capture box with an included portable tripod and soft case
I bought this during Prime Days at a sale price which was a good deal especially with an extra 10% coupon provided by the seller. I looked at several models and they all seem to offer the same features. A handful will also record 4K but not this model although the seller says the development team has that feature in the pipeline. It can however handle 4K content but only records in 1080p. Some bonus extras include a portable tripod and a carrying case which I'm not sure if other competitors offer. I have not had any issues with HDCP (yet) because I route the output of the bluray player through a splitter (Zi-Youren branded) known to strip out HDCP. I have not bothered connecting it directly to the bluray player but I suspect it will show an error due to HDCP. One issue with *all* capture boxes is that they only record stereo audio, not 5.1. I'm not sure why none have been able to provide that feature. Perhaps it requires much more real-time computing power which no company has yet invested in. I would imagine if ability to record 5.1 is a feature, it would be flaunted in their descriptions. I needed a capture box primarily to rip discs that come up with errors using MakeMKV. Since bluray players are forgiving, they will play these discs with small glitches in video and audio at those error points. I have about 12TB of ripped files so far on a NAS which I use as a Plex server so I can stream on my Roku and FireTV boxes on-demand. Much more efficient than rummaging through a mountain of discs. I would've given this capture box 5 stars if it recorded in 4K and 5.1 audio. Maybe they'll be the first company to offer that in the future. Update: Even though the listing states that you can capture from VHS, etc, there is no composite or S-Video inputs, although there is an analog audio input jack. So, the only way you can capture from analog video is to have a composite video to HDMI converter box as the only inputs are the HD1 and HD2 HDMI inputs.

Absolutely great!
I was skeptical… but one of the Best Buy’s of 2025. Easy to use. Tranferring mini dv tapes to digital was easy. It works way too well for the price. Almost too good of a deal. The screen on it is bright and clear. I find myself watching the screen as I transfer as it so good. If you’re hesitating, just buy it. You can’t go wrong.

Pleasent surprise
I like this monitor recorder. I was looking at other unit the cost more than twice of this unit but being in my late seventies and having been in the film and video business more than fifty years I was not willing to spend the money on a new camera. I figured I could just improve the recording from the camera head and that would last longer then I will. I first ran a test using a Sony Z7U camera and recorded a color chart. The results was very good. I then repeated the test using a Sony Handicam C580 and once again the results were very good. Next I used and old JVC GY-500 DV shoulder held news camera and ran the signal through a composite to HDMI converter and had very good results. The last test was just recording Bars and that was very clean. The manual is well written and easy to follow. I also recorded to a SD card, Thumb drive, a HD drive and a SSD drive. After reformatting the drives I was able to record clips longer than 40 minutes as one clip, did not try any thing longer. Good image on the screen. The buttons are well laid out. If I could change anything it would be the placement of the time, if you have it displayed on the recorded image. I think it would be better in the lower third so you could hide it with graphics.
