You hold one like a pencil although it's a bit shorter than a new pencil, it has a clip for your shirt pocket and the colors make the pen easily spottable. It's more accurate than my fingers although the tip is rounded and I have seen some that look more pointed. There are a lot of included pens, which seem to be sturdy and I've distributed some of them at various convenient places.
