Works great
Works great for my needs, just remember this is an ANALOG adapter and will not work with most smartphones. But if you need an analog adapter like me this is great!

Solid genuine Motorola adapter for headphone use
The adapter does exactly what it says it will do: it provides a 3.5 mm (1/8-inch) jack for headphone use, by plugging into your phone's USB-C port. I use this only for the Motorola Z Droid phone, as specified in the product description. I wouldn't know how it performs with other brands of smartphones. (See the "Questions" section for other users' responses.) I was hoping the adapter would also serve as an adapter for a microphone with a 3.5 mm plug. Unfortunately, it does not, nor does it claim that capability. In fact, rolling your mouse cursor over the 3.5 mm jack housing in the photo will reveal the embossed "headphone" icon on the housing. In other words, this appears to be a TRS (tip-ring-sleeve) device capable of adapting three lines: left stereo, right stereo, and common. This type of connection is often referred to as a three-pole connection. I wanted to use this to connect my Rode Lavaliere microphone, which requires a TRRS (tip-ring-ring-sleeve) connection, to include the above three lines plus a microphone line. But it doesn't have that. Please understand that the adapter deserves five stars because it appears to be well-made, it appears to be a genuine Motorola product, and it performs exactly as advertised. The fact that I wanted it to do something it didn't claim to be able to do is certainly not the fault of the product. I've ordered a TRRS adapter through an auction site because I couldn't find one on Amazon, and unfortunately the product I'll be receiving is not a genuine Motorola product, so I may keep the Motorola adapter for just for use with my wired earbuds. If you're looking for a headphone jack adapter for one of the listed brands, this will do the trick. It may be a little more expensive than some of the knock-off products, but it appears to be well-made, and I like the idea of having a well-made product I can count on, rather than having a cheaper poorly-made product I can't count on. (If I didn't care if it worked or not, why would I buy it?) Get this one.

Works perfectly on Moto Z Force, the intended product
I ordered this because my Moto Z Force that I bought on eBay didn't ship with the converter. Works like a charm, even though I've only had it for 15 hours so far. Connection from 3.5mm jack end to earbuds (I don't have headphones) is secure. It takes a little bit of extra force to snap them in, but nothing really hard to manage. Connection from USB-C end to charging port is also sturdy, more so than a 3.5mm jack built into some phones I've used. No crackling or distortion of sound or anything. Everything functions like it normally would had this phone been built with a headphone jack, minus the fact that you can't charge while keeping these plugged in.

Fair price and does the job with small drawback
I like the little rubber connector that it came with, helps prevent the previous issue I had where I lost my dongle. I'm using this with a Sony XZ3 device, and it works pretty well. Only issue I've had is that one direction doesn't play audio clearly and you have to make sure it's flipped the right direction. It's a little annoying since it's USB C and a huge selling point of the connector is using either direction. Otherwise I have no issues with the dongle.

Works with the Pocketbook Verse Pro ereader
I bought this analog adapter with the hopes that it would work with my Pocketbook Verse Pro ereader. I tried many adapters til now and none worked. It needs to be an adapter without the DAC chip and nowadays they all seem to have that. I heard about this one on an old Reddit post from someone who had the same issue. It does work! It’s the only one. I’m stoked. I hope this helps someone.

Worked perfectly for about a week
I have a moto z2 force, and I've been though a few different brands of these types of adapters since I lost the one that originally came with my phone a while ago. I was hoping that since this is the same brand as my phone, that I wouldn't have compatibility issues. I have used this adapter everyday for exactly one week, and the sound cuts out or one or both headphones lose partial sound or there's crackling if you barely nudge it. I have to either not be touching the wire after adjusting it for the sound to come through (which is okay if I'm at my desk), or hold my phone at a goofy angle when that's not possible (I walk everywhere and always have my headphones in) which even then doesn't always work. I don't know if I just got a dud, but this seems to happen with every single one of these adapters I get across a range of brands and prices so maybe a shitty lifespan for USB-C to 3.5mm adapter is just inevitable.

not that great
UPDATE- So I found out why this adapter has static aka distortion. All passive no DAC USBC to 3.5mm do NOT have GND connected properly to the USBC header, their only connected to SBU1/SBU2 for detection comms, on either phones or tablets, When used for Headphones its audio is distorted because its missing GND from USBC header to sleeve on the 3.5mm jack. So I when to rewire this adapter for my needs but the wires are sooo slow and tiny, I bought a no name brand passive adapter and their wires were much easier to work with because they thicker, and audio quality seems to be much better too. So if you in my situation where you need a USBC to 3.5mm aux so you can use your own 6ft 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable then you'll most likely need a passive adapter with no DAC and rewire it, because no one seems to make a properly grounded passive adapter. I have ankit E600 bluetooth headphones, and I needed a passive USB_C to 3.5mm to use a longer 3.5mm cable because active DAC USB_C to 3.5mm do not work at all with E600. Now even tho it did technically work on the headphones the audio was terrible and only in mono not stereo, so I have to keeping looking for another brand passive USB_C to 3.5mm and there hard to find because most USB_C to 3.5mm are active DAC

The Fujifilm X100V camera supports wired headphones when using this USB-C analogue adapter to 3.5mm stereo TRS socket. The headphone volume of the camera set to a level of 7 or 8 works great with a pair of Audio Technica ATH-M50x headphones. I purchased two cables so that I have a spare.
