The frame isn’t thick and very heavy but it is sturdy enough especially once the glass shelves are on and we also attached the tether to it and the wall, which is great to have! It’s easy to put together but my husband was so kind to do it for me! The glass is tempered and has slightly rounded corners- it’s slightly darkened glass. There are also four silicone pieces to put in the corners so the glass has a buffer against the metal when you lay them in. I love it and it definitely serves its purpose well and is the height I wanted, which is hard to find in a more narrow shelf. I cut cardboard rounds out of the box to use under pottery and glass planters.
