Solid Choice for a Light-Duty Laptop
This is my third HP Chromebook, and all have served me well. I use it as an ultra-portable web browser with a keyboard -- a much bigger screen than my phone, with a tactile, physical keyboard that I strongly prefer over a tablet's touch interface. My only complaint with low-end Chromebooks is they tend to chug / slow down for many websites and when loading memory-intensive applications like Google Docs / Sheets. If you can live with that shortcoming, it's a great value as a second laptop or something for your kids.

Just Perfect For My Needs
I realize Chromebooks are limited in what we can do with them. I only use it for online work, "Transcription", so those cookies that get past just clearing history can't really get too far. For the simple stuff, these rock. By taking a chance on "refurbished", I could afford to do this. I want to send a thank you out to this seller for selling me something that's able to work for me. I just installed android apps to make it what I needed. Nice.

New in open box
I took a chance on buying something that was labled new in open box. With mandatory remote schooling where we live, I wanted my own chrome books rather than borrow from school. I think many others must have also had this idea. I searched Amazon as well as other competitors websites, and came up with very limited options that were affordable enough for a 7 and 10 y/o! These chromebooks were under $250, came packaged in the original boxes, and, in fact, had not been taken out of the boxes. They are perfect for remote learning. Camera works well, no issues connecting to wifi. They were even set up with Google classroom (icons/widgets/short cuts) whatever right on the desktop. Battery life is good, they look nice, fairly light and compact for a chromebook. They were delivered a few days early, which was also super helpful!! I don't really have anything negative to say. Serves it's purpose.

It’s great for the price
This is good for my 9 year old for his school, it’s fast and the battery life lasts for days without charging. The only thing is that the screen could be a little more brighter.

UPDATES END JUNE 2022
This HP Chromebook has worked well. I purchased it 2 years ago. The main reason I was interested in a Chromebook was because they said they were very secure, as Chrome did its own updates for software and security. Now I was notified that all the updates will end June 2022 for this model. I wasn't aware that this was an old model when I ordered it. And neither Amazon or HP mentioned the "AUE" So now I suppose I will have to shop for a new computer - and it won't be through Amazon.

affordable and ready to go
GREAT product. i use it for shopping ,bill pay ,and job hunting. the no frills model is perfect for my usage.. my mom even got a chrome book for herself.. although larger with a back lit key board. These are pretty awesome in affordability and account management.. no bloat ware!

Awesome Little Chromebook !
This Chromebook was purchased almost 5 months ago. It was purchased for my daughters 12th birthday. She absolutely loves it. She is very rough with electronics and this Chromebook is holding up very well. Its mostly used for watching YouTube and googling things. The speed is very pleasing and I've heard zero complaints. The battery life on the Chromebook is really good, it will last about 6 hours before needing to be charged . It also charges fast when plugged in. The screen looks clear and is a good size for a small Chromebook.

this is a great little computer
If you're looking for light useage i.e video streaming and word processing, this is a great little computer. It's not for gaming or anything, but if you have a blog, or if you just like to stream videos while you do homework, this really gets the job done. The battery life is surprisingly long, but I also don't use it for very long periods of time. That being said, when I do use it, the battery lasts. I'd recommend this to a casual blogger or a super poor college student just trying to get by. It gets the job done.

If you're thinking of buying this Chrombook, please make sure you understand what this little this is not. This is essentially a cross between an android phone (apps from the play store after the update) and a web browser. You are going to be quite dissapointed if you have the following expectations: If you wnat to use it like your Windows or Mac for playing heavy games or runnig heavy programs If you are looking for this little thing to do anything other than writing, spreadsheets, browsing the web or listening to music If you are going to be downloading and storing Terabytes of data Now why I think its the bees knees: The trackpad is yuuuuuuuge! I bought it to surf, listen to google play, and write. It does all three rather well. I hit the power button and in about a second or two, its up. The battery life so far with constant and consistent daily use has been around 9-10 hours. If you want more, keep the screen brightness low, and have Bluetooth and WiFi off when not in use. I use my phone to tether when I am not home or don't have access to SECURE WiFi.. I also use the free version of Google Drive to store all I write. No issues whatsoever. If I want local data storage, I can add a 128GB MicroSD card. Have not needed one yet. Peeves: I regret not buying a sleeve, I will buy a sleeve or a smaller bag with a strap or handle to put this in. Keyboard not lighted and that is annoying when I type at night in my bed when the wife is sleeping next to me.

This is my first Chromebook and I absolutely love it. It's perfect for all of the reasons I bought it. I was looking for a simple and portable device, which would provide me access to my email, documents, and the internet in general. The HP 11.6-inch Chromebook does all of that and more. Google docs, sheets and slides allow me to view and work on my projects when I am not at my windows computer. Best of all, it starts up in about 10 seconds, shuts down in 2 seconds and it's battery lasts a really long time. If you're looking for a quick and simple device to meet all of your internet needs and you don't mind the screen size, this Chromebook is definitely worth consideration.

Bought this for my mother who isnt the most best at navigating computers (they dont know how to copy and paste, to give a sort of idea). They absolutely love the computer- rarely finds any trouble with it and loves using the music options available. She's even been able to navigate and plug a hdmi into her tv to watch and play stuff on there without my help, which is awesome. It works just as easily as any other system From a person who uses computers commonly i'd have to play around with it a lot more personally instead of watching my mother to really put a good review in, but for people who want to use the internet minimally or play music it seems generally okay.

I like having this Chromebook. It's basically a Chrome browser, so don't expect a lot of power out of it, but it sure is handy while travelling. I tend to use the Chrome apps a lot even when I'm not on the Chromebook. So a Chromebook made total sense for me. It handle Office 365 pretty good as well. If you need something with a keyboard (i.e. instead of a Tablet or Phone) this works great.
