Can one set this up to use a solar power power bank instead of batteries?

I don't think so. The car uses some specialty batteries and you have to get the right type. I ordered mine from Ebay and Battery Junction. The instructions give the type. I cant remember what type they were.

Yes, you need to assemble, you can see the tutorial download on the box.

El envío llego rápido y sin problemas. El producto viene en una caja, con todos los componentes, perfectamente ordenados e identificados, en varios embalajes y bolsas individuales, así como unas pequeñas herramientas que facilitar el montaje. El código viene muy detallado en el tutorial en formato .pdf, y siguiendo las indicaciones de los diferentes vídeos de Internet, se monta muy fácilmente. Para su correcto funcionamiento, hay que utilizar las versiones de las librerías que acompañan al fichero .zip, que hay que descargarse desde la página oficial, y sustituir aquellas que no se correspondan en el IDE de Arduino.
